Q: What is the grossest food you've eaten in China?

There have been some recent articles about 'gross' Chinese food, and it got me thinking about the grossest thing I've eaten. I feel like this should be distinguished from the worst thing I've eaten here - a plate of disanxian gaifan that still haunts me. By gross I mean the idea of it is 'bleugh' though the taste could be good or bad.

Wasps were definitely mine, though if you closed your eyes they weren't that made tasting. And 2nd (though I admit I havent actually eaten it, someone just told me about it last night) is baby chickens in the egg. The idea of that just makes my skin crawl.

Pig's brain was bad in taste, texture and the idea of it was hardly appetizing, but getting a pig's penis stuck in my throat was probably the grossest. Got me out of a parking ticket though. WAHEY!

(Now i've definitely made that joke on here before. I swear to God this place is like a daily injection of deja vu)

probably a mouthful of "fresh air". The Guangdong kitchen isn't teaming with bugs, snakes and those kinds of things. Sure a bit of donkey an turtle crawls onto the table now and then. Cow stomach is often used. Taste wise, not too bad, the consistency is awful.

Hunan is the province I've spent second most time in. It is difficult to get to a point where it is possible to judge if the food is gross as everything is spicy as a hot day in hell. Stinky tofu probably should be on my list too.

Durian is by far the nastiest thing I've ever tasted. To me, that fruit is proof it is a cruel world.

I had totally wiped Durian from my mind. Totally agree on that front. Worse than Wasps. Much worse.

'Baby chickens in the egg', had that in the Philippines, it doesn't taste as bad as you'd think haha. Maybe it's time for you guys to go back to fish'n'chips, Swedish meatballs, biscuits'n'gravy or whatever heavenly delicacies you are used to eat on a daily basis. Durian rules

Lamb and pig eyes, dog and cat meat, sea horses. I haven't actually eaten any of these but have witnessed others doing so first hand.

Baby birds. I did not actually eat them. I love animals, they are much more predicable than people.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
