Q: What happens if a foreigner gets a Chinese girl pregnant?
Let me be clear. This is not about me. Just curious. I've heard stories of a few foreigners getting unmarried Chinese girls pregnant and then trying to run out on them. The parents go to the police and get the foreigner's passport canceled or something. Is there any truth to that?

Honorable and noble are attributives that characterize a good man with a healthy conscience. If you happen to impregnate a woman, regardless of nationality, creed or race, you have limited options: 1) abort; 2) marry the damsel in question and have the baby.
If you are a scoundrel, you will walk out on the girl leaving her to fend for herself. Naughty shit there.
On the other hand, if you both agree, abortion is a viable option in China since it is legal, safe, inexpensive, uncomplicated and expeditious (unlike many other countries that muddle the issue with morality and religion). And you will pay for it, accompany her to the clinic, ensure she is comfortable, and console her thereafter if she needs it.
If you want to have a child, you love the girl, and you are young enough to see your own flesh and blood reach full term (usually around 18 yrs of age), then marry the girl and start a family. Nothing wrong with that. People have been engaged in such arrangements for millennia.
If marriage is not your cup of tea, fine. Just don't walk out on her. Man up and do the right thing. Good luck.

But after all you ("the foreigner") are assholes to make them pregnant in first place and then trying to run away without being a little bit responsible and not using protection. And then not to think about STD's.
Never heard if the police cancel's passports (VISA's) or get you deported for that, but for sure they can make your life hell and I'm fully agree with that. I would not have any mercy with those suckers.
Regarding marriage : the art. 6 of the Marriage Law of PRC stipulates that "In order to get married, the man shall not be younger than 22 years old and the woman shall not be younger than 20. Late marriage and late child birth shall be encouraged."
Regarding the "legal" age for having sexual intercourse, it's not clearly define in the Chinese law (except in the case of rape). According to the " Law for Protection of Minors in China ", citizens who are under 18 are considered minors and enjoy special protection by the law. However, the law also considered as a "rape", the intercourse with a woman under 14. Between 14 and 18, the law doesn't really specify in case of consensual intercourse.
Impregnating a Chinese woman (under the legal age of marriage) is also considered a very serious crime in China. The authorities may take a foreigner passport away.

Age of consent, where a person can validly consent to sex can be under the "legal age" of adult hood. So, in Puerto Rico, 18 is the age of majority but 16 is the age of consent. You can have sex with a 16 year old even though he/she is a minor BUT that minor is of an age where he or she can cosent to sex. As to China, ask a Chinese lawyer as I am not authorized to practice law in China.
The girl would need to prove that the baby is yours. And without a DNA test, nothing would happen legally. However, the family may hire thugs to beat and threaten the person, but aside from that, nothing.
As BFT said, the girl would probably be given money for an abortion. They are a very common method of birth control here.

There are two situations: 1) if the girl is under the legal age to get married, the foreigner may face criminal charges. So, the police can legally take the DNA of the foreigner. 2) if the girl is in age to get married, the foreigner doesn't face any criminla charges, but if the girl wants to choose the abortion and keep the baby, the foreigner may also be in serious troubles.

If they took your passport for that your embassy should raise hell. That all said, there is an alarming trend of Chinese girls getting abortions paid for by foreigners. Abortion, ain't birth control, people! Wrap it up or use the pill.

If you F some girl and get her pregnant, you have 1 of 3 choices.
1.) If you love her, and she loves you...marry her.
2.) If it was a mistake on your two parts pay for the abortion. (I hate abortions).
3.) If she is a skeezer (and there are many in China), and well connected she will work you to the bone! You are doomed!

He is stupid and should have his balls cut off. Really though westerns have a higher level of sex education then the local and should exercise that higher level when partaking in the act. Abortions are common here and the morning after pill is READILY available. There isn't the huge Christian moral dillema here about terminating pregnancies, so it's a viable option.
As for cancelling passports, only an issueing country has the right to revoke a passport. China cannot cancel, lock-up, or do anything to your passport. They CAN revoke your visa however and kick you out of the country.
Getting pregnant before marriage here is a huge cultural no-no, so most girls I don't even think they'd admit it to their parents, unless they are young and maybe a little rebellious (HA! I'm knocked up by a laowai! What do you think of that! We're going to get married and have 20 babies!), naive, or trying to do the "man-trap with a baby" technique.
If she is a honest girl, its your fault.
If she is out for other hidden agenda, pack up and move out to another location where she cant find you...

Your question dude once worried me, so I did an experiment. Took a pin, took a wrapped condom and found that pinholes through the wrapper are easy to spot. There seems to be alot of people pointing the finger at foreigners and then saying that abortions are bad blah blah blah... Im assuming these people are chinese.
Well after being here for a while I am pretty shocked at what goes on with locals, personally I always use a condom and all of my foreign friends here do also, if it is their girlfriend then that is for them to decide but for casual sex, for sure always use one.
Since coming here I have learnt that abortions are really nothing to be worried about here, they are even considered pretty standard. I know that western view on abortions is quite controversial and alot of opposition to it, but here I have lost count of how many young girls in my business have just taken a few days off and popped for one. Sure they realise it is silly but it keeps happening and really they can only blame it on poor sexual education.
So I think a bit less finger wagging at foriegners because our society uses condoms, your society seems to giggle uncontrollably at someone buying condoms and then go "oh we didnt know any better, lets pop to the hospital" tsk tsk...

I don't think you understand what we're saying. We aren't saying Abortion is evil or any of that, we're saying it's NOT birth control. And people need to realize that. As well, it isn't so easy a thing for a woman to do and COULD render her infertile if the doctor is a putz. So don't pull the "abortions are a piece of cake" BS here cause you just sound like a selfish prick. Wrap it up, and preferably be on birth control. I know cause I've been there. We had a bag break and the morning after pill didn't take. Due to that the doctor recommended we get an abortion as he said the pill could have adverse effects on the fetus. (Luckily we got it three weeks in). And it was possible the worst day of my life seeing her go through that whole procedure the whole time thinking "I did this to her." I remember the doctor telling me I could go in to see her, I walked in just as she was being raised in the chair, her face was confused and she looked like she'd just woken up from a ten hour nap. That night she cried herself to sleep beside me, there was nothing I could do. It was the best thing to do, we both know this. But it is not a piece of cake, especially for her. After that we went on birth control until after our wedding when we decided to conceive. Trust me man, you don't want to be in that position, be careful. I still beat myself up over it even though she says it's her fault too.

I dont thin abortion is evil, nor do i think its a peice of cake, if it has to be done then it has to be done. My point is; what i see and my upbringing in western culture is exactly as you described, we wrap up and if there is an accident, then we do what needs to be done. But here I am quite shocked at the locals attitude towards this, they almost ARE using abortion as birth control, I feel so sorry for the frankly large amount of young girls I talk to in my company that have had to go through an abortion, simply becasue they didnt know better or the guy told them some crap about that day was ok because its xxx(insert suitable amount of days) since her last period. Most of them go through it alone too. I want to just point out that some people on this forum seem to label foreigners as some sort of sex mad fiends...at least we know how to do it safely.

Anyway, the birth control thing is a major issue here. I had a female chinese friend who once told me she was scared it would make her infertile. I told her it's 15 abortions that makes you infertile, not the pill. I'm shocked that, considering the one child policy, it isn't hype up much more here. But yeah, that hospital was just a rotating abortion door, crying young girls, scared shitless young men. Ugh, a terrible place indeed.

Not possible for a common person to have the ability to do that, especially it the girl is not a local from the province this happened in. But if the parents have connections, this is possible. Just don't understand, why would someone make a girl pregnant and just run. At least prepare to either take of the child in the future or figure out the best solution that fits both parties interest

Clearly this is a big difference between Western family bond and Chinese (and other asians). U may not know this but it is very common in a Western family to have brother and sisters from differents mums and dads. Basically Western fuck around with different partner and have children from left to right. So many half brother and sister etc in the Westerns families. Getting a woman pregnant requires TWO participants, and BOTH of them can and should carry condoms. Condoms do not have a 'for male use only' label!
Having said that once it has happened then both potential parents should decide together what form of action they want to take.
Also you don't care if you have a illness and transmit to her or exchange.. When you see a woman nude, you lose your brain ... which anyway you never had it .....

Yes, it seems the girls I was with, they wanted to get pregnant as soon as we had sex.
I think the answer is the same as anywhere else - you either marry the girl if you love her or offer to pay for an abortion if you don't. Of course if you are a reall asshole or coward you jump on a plane and go hide.
