Q: what happens if i simply leave china before my employer cancels my residence permit?

I have had nothing but bad experience working in China and despite having another job lined up I do not think I want to spend another year here. I definitely do not want to deal with schools who do not act according to the contract. The school I worked for refused to give me my salary unless I provided them with a resignation letter stating i quit april 1st and I will pay them 1000usd.  did that as i would still have 14000 yuan left and if I decide to leave at least i got something. I am living in Shenyang and I am having difficulty adapting with the cold as for the past 5 years I have been living in Iquitos Peru which was in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest, Santiago Chile, Sao Paulo Brazil, Manila Philippines and Phnom Penh cambodia. I also have travelled to Bangkok and Udon Thani Thailand, La Paz Bolivia, Mexico City Mexico, Doha Qatar, KualaLumpar Malaysia and Buenos Aires Argentina. As you can see everywhere until now has been a tropical or desert paradise. I tend to like temperatures of 30c or higher and very humid locations. Although if i had a chance to work in Russia I would tolerate the cold as I love everything Russian. I left my last employer due to them not paying my social insurance premiums which I understand most teachers would not care. I however would like to be able to get medical treatment at a hospital if a crazy Chinese motorcycle hits me when I am walking on the sidewalks.

Currently my employer is telling me that I will need to go with them to the PSB to cancel my resident permit. However I do not want to be stuck in China for 15 days. I did find anotherjob in Guiyang but I am concerned it will end like the one I was working at before. I am thinking that since i got my salary and my work permit is being cancelled I should simply buy a plane ticket to Cambodia where I have residency until june and then I would go to Albania as I have never been to Europe and want to explore there.

My new employer is telling me I can apply for a 30 days stay permit which they can turn into a work permit and resident permit wiithout me leaving China. My current employer had stated before if i cooperated with them they could see if they can get the police to grant me 7 or more days on my resident permit. so i can go to the next employer. However I suspect that is more to get me to cooperate with them. They still have not given me my release paper, my work permit cancellation paper, and the other papers. I was thinking I should buy a ticket in 4 days and go to cambodia.

reminds me of that old cereal commercial we made fun of as adolescents....   they bragged about how it had 'Nuts and Honey',,,   the kids ran around school saying 'nuttin' honey' !  like it meant bustin' a nut on your honey, with your honey, to your honey,,,   haha,,,  I still say it today!,,,,,   ' nuttin' honey!'

anyway, to answer your question,,, that's what would happen..... 'nuttin' honey'.

Does your school have a permit to hire a foreign teacher?sad I wouldn't have given them any money. Let SAFEA deal with that. As for having a job outside China lined up, just go without saying anything. just make sure you take your money with you.

A: In my personal experience, teaching certificates have varied in releva
A:In my personal experience, teaching certificates have varied in relevance depending on the context and location. Here's a breakdown of each aspect:a) Getting the teaching job: Teaching certificates can certainly enhance your chances of securing a teaching position, especially in formal educational settings such as schools and language institutions. Many employers prefer candidates who have undergone specific training in pedagogy and instructional techniques, which these certificates often provide. However, other factors such as experience, references, and the demand for teachers in a particular area also play significant roles in the hiring process.b) Getting a higher salary than your uncertified competitors: In some cases, holding a teaching certificate can indeed lead to a higher salary compared to uncertified competitors. Many educational institutions have structured salary scales that take into account factors such as level of education, years of experience, and additional certifications. Holding a teaching certificate may place you in a higher salary bracket or make you eligible for certain salary incentives or bonuses. However, this can vary widely depending on the specific policies of the institution or organization.c) Getting promotions: Teaching certificates can be beneficial for career advancement and securing promotions within the field of education. They demonstrate a commitment to professional development and mastery of teaching skills, which are qualities that many employers value when considering candidates for leadership positions or administrative roles. Additionally, some promotions may require specific certifications or qualifications, making holding a teaching certificate essential for advancement in certain cases.Regarding which certificate yields better results, it largely depends on the specific requirements of the job market and the educational context in which you intend to work. For example:A Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) is often highly regarded in formal school settings and can be advantageous for those seeking positions in primary or secondary education.Montessori certification is valuable for individuals interested in working in Montessori schools or implementing Montessori principles in their teaching approach.A Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate is particularly relevant for those seeking to teach English to non-native speakers in international contexts or language schools.Ultimately, the best certificate for you will depend on your career goals, the specific requirements of the positions you're interested in, and the preferences of potential employers in your target job market. It's essential to research the requirements and preferences of employers in your desired field and tailor your qualifications accordingly. -- ruqaiya761
