Q: what happens when a western salesman trys to sell to your Chinese wife?:

If he still has his shoes she is slipping
in China you expect it as social convention but in a western country there isn't always room to move
A guy was trying to sell my wife a camera and I had to walk away purly because I didn't want to see him cry
Ive seen her bargin things down past the point that you wouldn't think possable.
dose this happen in your household?

Every day, my friend.  I have walked away from what I consider excellent bargains because my GF said loudly "it was still too expensive".

When I took my wife to a Nordstroms in the US to pick up some things, I was amazed when she started barganing with the sales people on the listed price.  At this point, I had not been to China so I quickly told her, "Dear, you can't do that in stores like this.  They won't budge on the price."

Damn if she didn't prove me wrong.  She got them to drop the price by about 25% and she still wasn't happy with the price.  But I paid it just to keep them from stringing us up.  :)
