Imagine MH 370 missing and the majority of the passengers on board are US and Western Citizens. What could have been done by now? Any idea
.... we'd ad had a lot less bitching and contribution from China. I am sure the countries involved now would also be involved. Had the majority been US citizens, I could see the US sending a Carrier Battle Group to the presumed crash site as that would surely make for a kick ass search platform rather than having the search planes fly back and forth to Perth.
Yet another reason for Admin to stop anonymous posts
KimOnach:
That's what I thought too... there's no upside to anon posting.
expatlife26:
right...i mean we already the option of anonymity through our screen names.
No matter what "Scandinavian" or "charlieB" says you can't trace it back to a real person anyway unless they choose to use the same screen name for some account with their real name on it.
There's no extra advantage to giving that anonymous posting option within an already more or less anonymous community. We should be held accountable to our online personas at least.
Scandinavian:
@Expatlife26. You need to keep the dimwitted believing that they can be traced. If not, all hell breaks loose. But if you had access to the server hosting this site you would be able to at least partially establish whereabouts in the world the posters are, or to what VPN provider they subscribe.
Sinobear:
Yeah but, expatlife26, we know who you are and where you are. Please stop ignoring the knocks on your floor!
The all-knowing and powerful Admin knows from where we post, they can wave their magic wands and block posts/accounts from certain ISPs.
Legitimacy and credibility...you can decide for yourself (or let your reptile alien masters do it for you) who you trust and whom you discount.
We have one poster who claims to be Canadian and describes his position as a GM (which I take to be Genetically Modified - an ear of corn from Saskatchewan - certainly his spelling and grammar gives that credence).
I, on the other hand, am representative of my avatar...and I stand by what I say.
expatlife26:
pffft, ur just some hoity toity bear.
If you know what's good for you, you'll stop knocking on my floor.
I know how to deal with bears...take this as a cautionary tale for you.

I'm thinking, either I should quit this site altogether or we should go Batman on it, "What this {site} needs is an enema!"
They would all be just as dead.
It is tragic what happened as it is in most disasters, but it is not reasonable to think this is a plot against Chinese or that somehow the Malaysian government is responsible.
The fact is we don't know what happened in that plane whether it was mechanical failure, pilot suicide, or alien abduction.
I am sure as Scandinavian said, many countries would look for the plane, as they are now.
One quick question:
Why is there no outcry for China to do more to search for the plane in light of the fact most of the passengers were Chinese? Geographically China is far closer than most western countries and they are the second largest economy in the world. China has the largest standing military in the world 2,285,000 personnel which includes a navy and air force. Plus another 800,000 reservist and 3,969,000 paramilitary forces for a total force of 7,054,000.
Malaysia has 109,000 military personnel, 296,300 reservist, and 24,600 paramilitary personnel for a total force of 429,900 personnel. Couldn't China be doing more?
Scandinavian:
Chinese military cannot reach the search area as there is 4 hours flight each way and they need to nap + have a trip to the KTV too often to be able to be doing anything sensible for that duration.
You could flip the argument, why doesn't China deploy more itself, if it is so eager to solve the mystery; is it a) because they caused the mystery, b) because they have no qualified staff/equipment c) because they have all decent military hardware tied up in some fantasy about a coming war with Japan or is it d) because they don't actually care, it's just a soft power ploy to make the Chinese think the government really cares which we know it doesn't
CharlieB:
I gave this more thought and I have a hypothesis as to why the government of the country most of the passengers are from is not doing more themselves.
If this government was to actually and earnestly search and fail to find anything the citizens of that country might feel their government was failing them. As it is the citizens and government can erroneously cry foul and blame everyone else while excepting no responsibility themselves.
ScotsAlan:
They are also too busy defending some rocks off the coast of the Philipines.
Proof positive that you are stupid, 'Western' is not a country. If most passengers are from 'x' country, takes the lead. But a plane accident of this type has never happened before. And every nation involved is doing everything they can. Chinese like to play the victim card. Let me ask this question, what do you think could have been done differently? (please remember to stay in the realm of reality)
my experience ...I was on flight 007 from Anchorage Alaska to Seoul Korea in 1983, one week before the Russians shot it down. I was in Thailand at the time.
I was on Alaska airlines flight 261, Feb 2nd, 2000, 2 days after it crashed into the Pacific ocean....my 8 year old son begged me not to go on that one.
I was on a cross Canada flight with my lacrosse team in 1975ish ,,I forget.. DC8. we crash landed in a Saskatchewan wheat field.... nobody hurt....great fun.... bunch of drunks.
I had just got back from Manila, when this latest thing happened....my Chinese wife has banned me from flying, so she can keep the income coming in...joking, she loves me and has a distrust of airlines...... unless of course I get her to Canada in the near future., maybe I will go by boat, junk like Vietnamese.
rambling about different air disasters. ...I think all that can be done is being done by a fantastic co-operation effort of numerous counties.
The citizenship is irrelevant, but the questions are huge and the whole world wants to know how and why and and and ....... the investigation will take years and through unprecedented co-operation, the answers will come.
Their will always be conspiracy theories.... have some fun with it you non-believers in science and tech.
I still have my wife convinced they should at least investigate lunar landings.
BHGAL:
just for you scand .... keep track of things .....Russia has 'sensed" ..not reported a potential BLAST at Diego Garcia... on March 18......
ok leave it alone ...pihua dàfàngjuécí 大放厥词
I will tell you what most likely WOULD not have been done.
Americans or Canadians... whatever... would not be crying like babies about compensation and then flying to Kuala Lumpur to protest the country with flags waving about screaming... "Why does the world always bully us?"
Demanding first class hotels and arrangements to make up for the lives of their lost ones. Dignity and class is something money can't buy... I would think a 5000 year old culture would know that...
Englteachted:
AMEN!!! Using the the tragic death of a loved one just to demand a free first class vacation. Barbaric Animals.
I don't need to imagine they are missing at all. As a matter of fact they are missing indeed. As to the rest of your post, as you're saying you're just delusional.
Imagine MH 370 missing
Only I can imagine is: 'you are a moron!'
Hiding behind a veil of anonymity and spewing trash, that's what I'd say you are doing. There's a saying where I come from...scratch where it itches, not where it hurts! Dumb!
239 living PEOPLE would be missing and the relatives with a hope of their survival. Nothing more
