I'm gonna need some interesting topics to cover. I'm thinking the Marvel Universe or DC comics, American Ways, Nutrition, Sports. Any other good topics that you think would be interesting for students?

Money and games with money, especially if you have any foreign notes lying around. Both the kids and grown ups get really into the novelty value of new stuff.
PS,
The kids I teach told me that my lucky $1US wasn't real money.
Multiple personality disorders would be very interesting taught by you.....
Why some toothpicks are sharp at both ends but some are sharp at only one end.
This could be a really lively, topical debate!

A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked.
If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
Where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?
and poetry
Justin Beiber's song Baby. Maybe you could have a lesson about the lyrics.
Who first discovered that you can milk a cow and what were they trying to do when they found out?
How to hog tie a chicken in under 8 seconds.Makes a great profession.
Having been living and working in China, dealing with people of different cultures for more than 5 years it has opened me up to a completely different culture with different value sets, totally different to that of my own culture in the US. This is something that I have only learnt through being here in Shanghai, and having the experiences that I get in daily life. Our son attends YCIS Shanghai and they offera “world classroom program”, which not only teaches them English culture, and Chinese culture, but other cultures throughout the world.
In YCIS, “World Classroom”, is open to students from Years 7-10, it is an educational program providing opportunities for students to develop their cultural knowledge, social skills and different worldviews by havinga firsthand study and living experience overseas. My son chose to visit Africa for his trip and the value attained from his experience was immense. Actually visiting the country, meeting the people, visiting students his own age in partner schools and genuinely getting a deep understanding of how people live in that part of the world has most certainly opened his mind to the broader world. I can strongly feel that he is becoming more compassionate and thoughtful towardspeople from different countries since his trip. It seems that “World Classroom” not only enhances his understanding of customs and geography of different countries, but has also helps to build the fundamental character of the kids.
I really believe that YCIS has a leading global education program that can help our children be more independent and confident to cope with difficulties, develop a growing global network of friends, and gain better appreciation of other cultures. And this will make him better prepared to meet the challenges in the era of globalization. They have more on this in their website, http://www.ycis-sh.com/

This advertisement has been placed before, are you all spoon fed this to put on as many sites as possible?

Yeh, i've got a friend who sent his kids to YCIS, he said it was crap; most of the teachers turned up late, sometimes hungover, sometimes drunk. One class didn't have any wall, during the winter the students would huddle in the corner, shivering and crying as the wind and rain pounded against them, but the teacher paid no attention to their pain, just hit them with a cane and threw erasers at them whilst occasionally staggering out of the room to fetch another bottle of scotch. I really wouldn't recommend such a place, it sounds awful.
Safe sex will be a great topic to teach......did not read details of the age of your students.....saw a question and answered you
I've found that the topics i think will be great are often of no interest to the students and things I thought would be crap work really well. Difficult to predict accurately. My advice is to get them to make a list of ten topics each as homework, then go through them and find a common theme.
Want to cause a major poo storm then talk about international law and then bring up Diaoyu/Senkaku Islands.
I know a guy that collected various napkins from fast food places and had the students conduct experiments to find out which fast food napkin is the best under different criteria. Sounds lame but he swears it was a winner
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
Anything that you can directly relate to your students. What I've found about Chinese students is that they really go for things about them. I've been surprised by how much lesson plans about the great beyond that would have interested me bombed. Your marvel/dc comics idea sounds interesting though. They do like superhero movies.
