Q: What is it with Chinese massages?

Ok, I know I vowed to stay away till i'd learnt my new 2000 words but i've made an ammendment. I've started instead to write the entire Oxford (pocket) dictionary into my phone and learn it. It's time consuming. As for spending time online, i'm gonna ask the odd question and check answers. Kind of felt that my departing at the same time as Loke, Boxer, General and all his other psuedonyms suggested a connection that didn't exist between me and that fine but trouble hungry fellow. There ain't one. I ain't now and not never have had no problem with none of you folks. Just a bit of an uppity Londoner and a bit too 'right on brother' at times, but I reckon you're good people on here, even the five of you who've made personal attacks on my family. I got no problem with none of you.

But to the question; what is the hell up with Chinese massages? I had one two days ago, for the third or fourth time since I got here, and it was a profoundly unpleasant experience. I thought having a massage was supposed to be an oooooh, aaaah type of experience, not a bury your face in the table and hope for death ordeal. I honestly felt like this blind bastard (not gonna offend any of them on here am I?) was after information, and I wanted to give it; I just didn't know what it was. It was tortuous. And I had to pay him for it. Now I woke up this morning again with serious muscle pain and when my wife suggested I go and have another massage I actually winced and let out an involuntary whimper. It shouldn't have to be this way. I know that most masseuses are blind but shouldn't that make them more sensitive or something? I thought the Chinese were supposed to be really knowledgeable about the body; so why do their massages suck such arse?

You were massaged by a Chinese spy, possibly a double agent. I can't be sure based on the scant information you provided.

And, you're a wimp.

mArtiAn:

And you're an individual who throws insults at people across large areas of empty space. It is very impressive.

And you're exceedingly sensitive. That was not meant as an insult.

Oh, ok, little passive aggressive but no worries.

Sorry. I really thought you were joking so I made a little return joke. Apparently I was wrong. So, I hope you recover soon.

I hope I recover at all, i'm in agony. You're probably right though, i'm a tad oversensitive at times.

You may be a bit sensitive but I'm not nearly as funny as I think I am.

If it's muscle soreness it will go away.

Peace.

I think you got a Physiotherapy lesson from a person who learnt it through some adult movies..

From what I can tell, many therapeutic procedures in China are painful on purpose. I guess that's how they tell it's working. Next time you should talk it over with the person massaging you so they know what you want. Otherwise it's automatically going to be a similar experience.

mArtiAn:

I dunno, maybe the Chinese have a higher threshold to pain than little old me. I know that they mostly avoid using pain killing injections at the dentist. I'm not satisfied with a pain killer at the dentist till I can't feel my toes, but different strokes I guess. I did tell the guy eventually but felt lame doing so. Such a raw approach to massage though; grinding the gristle with your elbow. Excruciating.
