Q: What job does your Chinese gf/wife have?

Or bf/huband. I'm just being nosy. feel free to tell me to mind my own business. How big an age gap between you?

My own girlfriend is an English major student. I'm 31 and she is 21.

The home is dirty, never cleaned. "In Chiiinnnnnaaaaaaa, this is how we live."

Breakfast? Lunch? Dinner? I've never heard of that. 31lbs down from starvation. I'm trying to see how long she can go without feeding me. I average 1 meal per day. I may plop over at any time.

"Could you fix me something to eat, please? I've had a rough day."

*looks at phone while talking* "You can do it." *continues pressing buttons*

*I go to work hungry, only eating when I get too starved to eat 1 meal from the fast food joints*

Now my stomach is so small, it can only comfortably fit 1 meal in it per day, or I will feel horrible. This is good. Now we save money. Now I only have to pay for her fast food.

That is too funny, yesterday my wife had the flu, must have puked 5 times in the 4 hours she managed to stay awake. Once while she was awake on the couch, actually sitting up, I looked over and she was crying. I asked her if it hurt so bad that she needed to go to the doctor. She said no, she was crying because she couldn’t cook me dinner and worried I would be upset. Trust me I have no trouble cooking for myself or eating out, nor is she treated badly. She is simply that kind and thoughtful 95% of the time. Yes, there are days she wouldn’t care if I stopped breathing too

Haha, I'm over-exaggerating. She is about to give birth, so she's too tired to do anything lately. Anemia, and all that stuff.

Not really. Her whole family lives like pigs. Cleaning? None of 'em have ever heard of it. Same with everyone else in her hometown/etc. Have you ever known Chinese people to be clean? Everything is dirty everywhere in China. It's going to take some effort...

mine is a part time teacher. english, self-taught and learned from being with me. before, she was a trained nurse doing earthquake relief in 2008, among other things. now, she also sells dutch imported products. she makes more money than i do now. she's 24 and i'm 32; we have 2 young sons.

MissA:

24, and she was a trained nurse seven years ago? How does that work?

it means every trainee in sichuan was dragged from nurse school to assist in the disaster area. she got more experience about severe injuries in a few months, than some nurses get in a lifetime. hey did you downvote me as well as insinuate that my wife is a liar? that's another western education that didn't really improve upon the human aspects! way to drag a lighthearted topic into the gutter, missSherlock. Chinese girls can't have noteworthy achievements, now?

Settle the hell down; I was curious as to how the hell that's possible, as I have no knowledge of nursing training works in China. No I did not downvote you and if I think someone is lying I will say "that's bullshit," not ask a question

My wife is 2 years younger, 46 –vs -48, she has a masters degree in biology , but for some reason ended up teaching English for nearly 20 years. I am hoping to get you out of this shit hole and back to the states where being an intelligent, caring person is actually appreciated. From what I read today she will actually make 2x her current wages working at Walmart until she gets adjusted.

My wife's a Mandarin teacher at a charter school. Charter schools, for those of you that have never heard of them, is sort of like a public school in that it's publicly funded but privately administrated. She's paid a full salary that is equal to what here analogs in the Chicago public schools make, good health insurgence that includes dental and vision, a 401K with contribution matching and 3 months paid vacation. She had to do a year with a private company that teaches languages to the children of upper middle class types to build a resume first, but once the opportunity came along she was hired right away and they love her.

My wife is the highest paid ayi around. I half expected to to turn lazy after a few years but she takes her job seriously. House is always clean and food is always hot.

Plus she lugging around a kid! Shes pretty fucking awsome.

After we changed cities she had to quit and i did t want.her going for interviews and shit. If shes happy at home painting or having lunch with friends, then im more than happy to have her do that.

Kids coming later, she needs to enjoy life now.

My wife is about 2 years younger than myself. She was my mirror Chinese-English teacher for a few classes when I started teaching. She sort of climbed the ladder with me going to different cities and getting promotions with different schools as Director of Academics, Center Director and all that jazz. I think after she saw me get out of it and do my own thing successfully, it inspired her and she now hosts her own program at a friend's school. She makes about double what she did in a Tier 2-1 city (we are in a Tier 4-5 city now near her hometown) and usually only works on weekends unless it is a holiday. She cooks (luckily very), cleans and deals with most of annoying admin stuff of living in China. She nags and can be lazier than I would like sometimes but... that's the tradeoff. I am lucky to have her.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
