recommend some kind of tea(better write down the name of the tea and the original producing place) and we could try
I personally like Pu'er tea. Not everyone likes it I guess, but I find it to be quite nice.
what no Tetley ? I read about teas, there are some that are very old and permented,, look like hash,, and expensive.. is it common to be able to drink expensive teas?
It's not common, but if you like tea...
Go to a traditional Chinese tea house, or at least a store that does the traditional way of serving tea.
The owner will often invite you to sit for hours and try different teas.
It's his sales pitch, but if you're cool and he/she is, they'll let you try some of the hella high end stuff.
I can honestly tell you, it is a unique experience. No tea bag will ever compare to this.
This is one thing that China does 110% right, +20% extra for being super experts.
I have a "wheel"of tea that I was given (worth apparently 2000rmb) that is probably one of the best beverages I have ever tried. I keep it in my freezer and use it rarely.
If you tried it, you would understand why tea was so important in the past, and also why people need to be aware of it nowadays.
Hey, I give credit where credit is due.
I have tried many different teas and find them all OK. In my opinion, while I can tell the difference in the various types of tea and have my preference of type, I can tell little difference between the cheaper and expensive ones of each type. To prove this I always try to not ask or look at the price first and then after I try and decide on how it tastes I then ask the question. I more enjoy the sharing and making of the tea, in other words the experience of the whole thing rather than the taste. I think it is a status type thing to buy the expensive one rather than any other reason and we all know that this is important to most Chinese and a good deal of Westerners. I for one can see no reason to pay large $$$$$ for the high end product.
It is like wine in my opinion. Yes the very cheap is pretty crappy but once you get into a reasonable price range there is virtually no difference beween that and the highly expensive top of the range stuff. It's just people with lots of money trying to show off.

The pu'er tea is the one that looks like a big cake of Black Nepalese hash. It and Jasmine are my preferences.
I like both the cooked type of Pu'er tea and the roasted type of Wulong teas.
Cool, thanks guys, now I have something else to look into. I drink tea at home, coffee rarely,
How expensive is tea?
greenfields:
it depends, hard to figure it out.but the best tea comes form original farmer.
Unfortunately, I have stomach issues that prevent me from drinking camellia-based teas anymore... (well, I can drink them... I just pay dearly for it afterward. :/ ) When I was able to to drink black teas, I was very fond of Earl Grey and Darjeeling. I also enjoyed fruit-scented and green teas.
These days, I have to stick with tisanes. My current favorites are Peppermint, fruit-infused Chamomile and an Earl Grey-scented Rooibos I found, which tastes almost as good as the real thing.
I've always been intrigued by Jasmine tea, though, and I'd like to try it at least once... even if it "kills" me.
Chinese? Ulung...100's types (prices as well) no tea bags,
Also Indian Tea, Nataray..very hard to find anywhere in the world
Ice Tea......specially the one with the jasmine and honey
