I mean, is it a good job? Are they humane? Or do they take as much as they can get while screwing the staff over?

I would assume they pay minimum wage, which is not really enough to live on.
I had a friend that was at college and I think she said 10 rmb per hour. She used to work and save money and then travel during her holidays, So I think it was alright for students. She was at KFC so maybe they get more.
Yeah, KFC back home is union, hard to belive, but true.
well on the bottom level it is 2000 rmb a month and on a managerial rank it is like 4000 to 6000 RMB.
which is not bad as per chinese standards.
As per jahanzeeb's answer though they also get benefits. I can't remember exact amounts but I had a friend who did it part time "because she didn't want her friend to be lonely there" and she got like 40 (50?)% off too. Not everyone's thing if you're smelling nothing but Mc D's all day but at least they're giving something.
Probably around 3000 kuai plus at least 40% discounts on their food. That's how it is in the states here though they probably get the food for free!
No idea cause where i live there is no McDonald's........My bad luck
