i have spent 4 days in HK, personally i hate it. apart from the expensive life there the amount of Indian , Pakistanis ans Africans.. it sure don't feel like Asia...
I saw so much fighting between blacks... the Indians and Pakistanis try to rip you off with fakes.
But again people have different tastes.

The society in Hk is completely different and more modern than China. It is not surprising after 100 years of English rule. They have been civilised in HK. Different systems, laws, etc. The English improved HK in everyday from traffic laws to political policies to artificial floating airports.

I have never been to HK but I imagine it is like taking a step nearer to the west.

Golden boy is right sure they have more a western life.... good laws and more civilized no kids crapping all over with the help of their parents.. I also didn't observe any spitting. For me HK is just too international.

Croquantes:

What the... Too international? Don't go to any big cities in Canada then, you'll hate it!

Hong Kong and mainland are so different. HK is such an international city, with a much more Western way of life. It's not as crazy as Mainland China, much cleaner, and everybody knows English. It's a cool city but it doesn't seem like China at all.

that's why they dont want mailanders to freely visit hk. could you imagine the uproar it would cause if 60% of the population saw what society should be and could be in china

Hong Kong is the best! It's what China could be. Free and clean, a great international city.
Electronics and clothes are much cheaper, night life is better, and everyone speaks English.
If I could live in HK and commute to Shenzhen everyday I would!

It's better than the mainland because when it's 10 at night there's still stuff to do! It's damn hard to find retaurants open late on the mainland at 9 or 10, because most people are at home in bed by then!

hongkong is freedom, almost all people are afraid with the law, police will act as the eyes of the law, unlike China who know him the bus control, and its people have developed, not as outrageous as people in china all the rough play against foreigners, including the police against foreigners are not friendly and helpful, dihongkong felt very safe and secure,

Croquantes.. yes i would hate Canada... I go to countries to see the native people not a mixture that is the majority..

Njord:

Then you ought to hate it in China, the "native" people in most places aren't the Han, they just became the majority because they took over and breed like rabbits...

Some of the most beautiful places around the world are so because of the different cultures and ideas that have come together from the different people. I love being able to go to NYC or Toronto or San Fran or London and see the influences of immigrants on the city and the influence of the city on the immigrants.

First of all, HK is about roughly the size of Beijing. Mainland is roughly the size of Europe. HK is not better than mainland.

Njord:

Wow for some women I guess size does matter not what you can do with it... It maybe small but damn woman, there's so much more....

doesnt that simply mean mainland china is bigger than hk??? mongolia is bigger than hk is mongolia a better place to live? or visit?

hk might actually be better because it is small , easier to get around. but that is not what makes it great. the lifestyle the culture , the cleanliness the good behavior, things make sense there

Diaphane:

All the times I went to HK, I always can't wait to come back to Beijing. For me, things does not 'make sense' there. Things are different there and I prefer Beijing. Nothing is better than anything. It is all a matter of perspectives and opinions.

A:You can still skin into China as a non-English native teacher by holding English Teaching license in your home country.2nd: Your BA degree should be completed in a native English country. Once, you fulfilled these 'parameters', you qualify for an English teaching job in China as a non-native English sneaker with Z - Entry/working visa with Working and Residence permit later on. See the last 'Answers Highlight' ---> there is a web link posted about 'requirements for teaching English language in China as a non-English native passport holder'. https://www.gooverseas.com/blog/guide-teaching-english-china#paragraph-item-63614-target

*English proficiency: Passport from one of seven "native speaker" countries (US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and South Africa). If you aren’t a native speaker, you’ll need to be a certified teacher in your home country with proof of your English proficiency (e.g. IELTS or TOEFL). I'd say, Chinese will choose and look especially for a native English speaker at teaching of English Literature job openings. Posted job adverts for English Literature teaching are most likely from International Schools in China. Good luck! -- icnif77
