Q: What is the minimum price for a one bedroom apartment in Beijing?

I know it depends on a place, but lets take 3rd 4th and 5th ring. How much would be a nice one bedroom apartment?

Have a look at Beijinger:

I saw title of your other thread about job, and if you're looking for English teaching job, most Schools will provide you with free apartment as part of the salary/perks.

I take it you intend renting?

I'm not up with Beijing prices , but something to be aware of when renting is you will usually need to pay six or twelve months rent in advance.

There are many apartments that are changed. One room is changed into several small rooms. The lord makes more money, and it's cheaper for a Chinese to rent. Maybe 300 RMB per month? Around. Some are really 'HARD KNOCK LIFE' living in cities. they even live in garage.  They save all the money they make in cities and send them to their hometown families. They minimize all the expense to serve their life or their kid/family's.

rents are getting very expensive in Beijing and shanghai.in shanghai a good room in a shared apartment is about 5000 yuan and you are expected to pay two months deposit which will be seized if you can not find a replacement when leaving the apartment.

in shanghai two people are sharing one room just to make ends meet

You will need to make at least 10-12k to live comfortable in Beijing. Renting is like 5-7k RMB per month... buying?

Forget about it.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is 'Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by 1. Finding an employer; 2. Employer applies for an Invitation letter; 3. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
