Q: What is the most appropriate place to travel in or near Guangzhou these days...

If the place has some adventure....I would luv it.....I have already tried Qingyuan, Qimelong, Panyu Park etc...

You should definitely check out Zhaoqing, just south west of GZ. It's got parks, waterfalls, karst limestone scenery not unlike Guilin/Yangshuo, a massive butterfly sanctuary, and the biggest 'ding' (鼎 - a type of Chinese tripodular vessel, much like a cauldron) in the world! It's easy to get there from GZ, you can take a bus in under 2hrs, and it only costs 30 RMB.
I've been there several times and it's a great place to escape the noise and smog of GZ.
