Q: What is the most scenic train journey to take in China?

I enjoy train travel and am seeking advice on which journey to take this year. Which station should I depart from and which should be my destiation? Are ther places that I could stop at for a day or two along the way and what could I visit while I am there?

Beijing - Lasha train, I heard. It could cost over 10,000 USD per train ticket for the luxury tourist train though.

It's funny that when it comes to luxury, it has to be calculated in USD and not RMB. Luxury and China doesn't really add up together, like Skater said.

There are cheap trains available on Beijing - Lasha rail route. The fact the international consortium choose to invest and operate China's most expensive tourist train on this route reflects to large extent it is one of the most spectacular senic routes where one can explore the great wild west of China.

A:I'll give my two cents on the age part. It's not as easy but can definitely be done. I was 21, fresh out of university and landed my first teaching job in china as a homeroom kindergarten teacher on a pretty standard 20,000/month salary. I'm 1 year in now and am still happy. Pretty much all international kindergarten jobs on here want 2 years experience, but many will still accept if you have experience in your home country. With that being said, being white and having a nice looking face is much more of a decision factor in china vs the west, if you can- use it to your advantage. Good luck finding something! -- brinsleym
