Q: What is the mysterious defunct subway...

...under the platform of DongSiShiTiao Subway stop on Line 10 in Beijing?

Every time I'm there, I peer down the blocked green stairwell, and it sure LOOKS like another subway line, including a platform and a place where tracks would be (I think they've taken them out). But it seems as if most people never even notice these stairs are there, and I've never heard anyone mention it. If I ever bring it up, all I get is blank stares.

I've been in Beijing for a year now, and still can't figure this one out. All official statements don't say anything about a subway interchange at this stop, or any subway line anywhere close to this area except Line 2.

Anyone ever heard anything about this?

yes, this tunnel was blocked shortly after completion because they found an unknown race of cannibalistic cave people that live down there. so they blocked it. and never spoke of it again.

actually i think i saw that in some crappy horror movie, and have no idea.
