We all have met some people with some ...let us say usual names.
My wife uses Helena and my surname in Australia but here she uses her Chinese name which I call her by
In Australia I use Phil and in China and she calls me Lung Fai or Laowai everywhere
Do your partners do the same and do you refer to them by their Chinese Name or the English one?

Here I am called by my given name, my wife by her Chinese name. Back home it is the same, I don't think anyone in my family knows my wifes English name, I never use it. (and they probably don't know my Chinese name either, and it is never used either) My English name is a bit tricky for some to pronounce so a nickname is at play, mainly among the older people on my wifes side of the family.
Our dog goes by his English name too, however it is not possible for people with Chinese accents to call the dog as they simply cannot say the dogs name.
My Chinese name is San zu 三足. My GF name on QQ is Ài měilì 爱美丽, she uses it for work, but most don't know her name so they call her Emily which she insists on.
