Thanks.
Chinese people cannot pronounce the word 'usually'
It's said /juːʒʊəli/
Not /juːrali/
Teach them the /ʒ/ sound.
That's what you NEED to know as a new teacher. The rest you'll pick up.
understand this one and simple rule of thumb things here are done out of tradition with no thought to logic . think quick on your feet because you will be told things at the last possible second or not at all
What age level of students? What kind of school (public, private, language center)? how many students in a class?

MissA:
Anyone planning to come teach in China should be forced to read every single page of that website.
Most jobs teaching English in China are not in a serious setting. So remember to just relax, don't be strict with things, don't stick to just the lesson plan, but have time for jokes and conversation.
Being liked by the students is quite important for you to be happy at the school, and to be liked by the boss. Remember that most schools are like a business, happy students is more important than students that are being taught better but are not happy there. Part of being a good teacher is being approachable and interesting to the students in most settings in China.

Also, sad but true, be prepared to be dissapointed in how your school treats you when it comes to pay. In my experiences, if you let them take advantage of you, they will.
