Q: What is now behind the Google problems?

Recently we assumed it was because of the 25th anniversary of T Square, but that was a month ago.  So why are they still screwing with google?  Is there something BIG going down in the news somewhere.  Even with a VPN, I am still having problems.

Just a general limitation of peoples ability to express themselves, spiced with the need to make it easier for local companies to win on their home turf.

If you're having problems while using VPN, then you're not using the right VPN provider. I assume you use a VPN connection point in your home country, then it should be exactly like pulling a long network cable all the way from home, to your computer here (a bit slower)

Don't expect Google to come back soon.  They are being punished by the government.  They announced in the media that Google was guilty of spying (or something) and they would be severely punished.  Apparently this is it.  Microsoft's got it coming too.  They already cut Windows off from government computers.  What's next?

They aren't being punished for anything else than not being Chinese and not accepting ridiculous terms a few years ago. More of these coming in the next months.

Canonical has released a special Ubuntu version for Chinese audience. How long til they crack a deal with the government at the cost of further control, or maybe is it already done in some way. Who cares, no one will bother audit it.

To be honest I actually think dropping Windows is a good move that every government in the world should follow. Funny that not a few years back many of their public systems were heavily reliant of Microsoft crappy and outdated technology like ActiveX, forcing everyone to use IE or Windows in some way.

Patience, patience, patience...  a Chinese virtue..(IS IT 6000 years yet?).soon there will be a very good Chinese version of  Windows and Google and you will not miss that old thing you grew up with.

I suspect, in the coming MONTHS we will be thrilled with a new version of each and    that it /they will have a very good built in firewall and spyware thing that will keep you safe when shopping at taobao. .............  won't be long now FOLKS!!!

A:You can still skin into China as a non-English native teacher by holding English Teaching license in your home country.2nd: Your BA degree should be completed in a native English country. Once, you fulfilled these 'parameters', you qualify for an English teaching job in China as a non-native English sneaker with Z - Entry/Working visa with Working and Residence permit later on. See the last 'Answers Highlight' ---> there is a web link posted about 'requirements for teaching English language in China as a non-English native passport holder'. https://www.gooverseas.com/blog/guide-teaching-english-china#paragraph-item-63614-target

*English proficiency: Passport from one of seven "native speaker" countries (US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and South Africa). If you aren’t a native speaker, you’ll need to be a certified teacher in your home country with proof of your English proficiency (e.g. IELTS or TOEFL). I'd say, Chinese will choose and look especially for a native English speaker at teaching of English Literature job openings. Posted job adverts for English Literature teaching are most likely from International Schools in China. Good luck! -- icnif77
