Q: What phone you can recommend to me?
I lost my phone and replaced with a old simple one which can only send messages and doing phone calling.I want to buy a new mobile phone which can install skype, trademanager(a business chatting software from alibaba),wechat and QQ.I want a not so expensive one like Iphone. What kind of phone you can remommend to me?
Thanks
You're back ![]()
Xiaomi Mi2S or Mi2A (main difference is storage and processing speed, but the 2A with the lowest specifications is running smooth) are both less than 2000 RMB, they work flawlessly. If you don't mind spending a bit more, the Mi3 is also there. Slightly bigger screen.
You can probably see them in shops, but so far each time I've seen them in shops, they have been 100RMB more expensive than if you buy them from www.Xiaomi.com
Victoria1987:
yep,I am back,I don't care what the stupid ppl said alaready. But I can't open the website you gave to me.
Scandinavian:
http://www.xiaomi.com should work, just checked, works for me now
if not, then http://xiaomi.tmall.com/
JacobJohn:
I am glad to see you back Victoria. Yes, as suggested already by Scandinavian, an Mi phone would do great deal in China that allows you to download apps like the ones you need.
Samm11:
I would agree. Xiaomi seems the best choice if you need a good and cheap one
Victoria1987:
What shop can I buy the xiaomi phone? Are there the special xiaomi shop?
Scandinavian:
I've seen them in both China Mobile and China Unicom shops. But they are always about 100RMB more expensive than if you buy them directly from www.xiaomi.com
Note. Xiaomi is now selling more phones in China than Samsung
Samsung. You can get a good one running the latest Android for less than 1000RMB.
Victoria1987:
Samsung with Android system around 1000rmb can allow me to run skype, what app, wchat? How about the speed?
Rin:
I use a Samsung running Android 4.2 the speed for Skype and We Chat is fine. I don't use Whats App.
Scandinavian ---- these things really OK? I should join the real world and get a decent phone .... be good to get a decent one without breaking the bank.
BHGAL:
stupid question.... but once I order this thing......first sign of trouble I will call you
Scandinavian:
I am surrounded my Xiaomi owners. Some of them have uttered that it is not carrying the same level of streetcred as an iPhone and maybe want to change it for an iPhone, but none have complained about build quality, battery life, screen quality in sunlight, image quality from the camera, software issues etc. The Xiaomi Hongmi seems a little dodgy in build quality, but 2S, 2A and 3 are top notch phones.
One you can keep in your purse, you don't look like you have the room in your back pocket.
I use a Google Nexus 4, Nexus 5 is out now, they aren't expensive compared to iPhones and I'm very happy with the phone, I like the Nexus 4 better for looks and feel. Nexus phones get updates first, I liked Jellybean better than Kitkat, too many apps added. This phone is super fast. But for Chinese person you must have iPhone5 .iPhone3 did everything I needed though.
Scandinavian:
Google Nexus are not available in China. Can be gotten from Hong Kong. I agree they are super phones. I would pick it anytime if it was not that I live in a country where I can have a Xiaomi.
TedDBayer:
I compared both phones exact same hardware inside, chipset etc, the Xiao is almost identical in all specs. .
just buy a samsung for less than 1000 as rin suggested...
bought one dual sim bigger screen (because FIL wanted phone with big screen to show off) for 1600 RMB
I have Nokia 'briquette' for HK$190 (150 Rmb) in red color
. I would recommend it, if you're prone to forget your things around (the World). Like me! I never carry an umbrella for the same reason.
welcome back victoria. i personally love my xiaomi. great quality, fast, and all the apps you want can be downloaded. was i one of the jerks you were mad at and left because?
