During  this  duration,I would like to work part time, "legally",so that i could easily make few bucks for my living .

Could someone help me to get familiar to this sort of visa and the procedure .

Thanks very much.

You can't work legally with student visa in China, butT.....demand for English teachers in China is huge, so it's most likely you'll get opportunity for work, however as Scot said......'you can legally work in China only with Z visa/Residence permit.'

Look here for requirements for legal work in China:

http://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa/work.htm

They moved link for Chinese Consulate in Hong Kong with detailed visas requirements and explanation.

You CAN work legally on a certain Student visa, but there are strict requirements and procedures - including the school's permission - in writing.

I'd ask the international department for more information, or PSB.

Given XJTLU has bucket-loads of extremely good, and qualified, teachers, I'd look at something like the hospitality industry (preferably a restaurant catering to those teachers).

I don't know if this will work but check it out. Instead of trying to work with a student visa, just get a working visa. What I mean is that you can't work with the student visa, but perhaps you can study with a working visa
