Q: What sports teams are popular with locals here? (all sports)

It seems that with basketball the LA Lakers are pretty popular here (due to Kobe Bryant no doubt), and with soccer, I'd say its a close call between Manchester United and Chelsea. What teams have you seen that are popular here? Anyones that have surprised you? I swear I saw some kid wearing a Manchester United jersey that looked about 20 years old the other day!

Strangely, I'm still asked about the Chicago Bulls because of MJ from time to time.

I also see a lot of NY Yankees caps around, though that's likely due to the popularity of the logo.

NBA: Lakers, Heat, Rockets

Football: Barca, Real, ManU, Arsenal, Bayern, Inter, AC Milan, Juve

Plus any team that has a Chinese on it.

I was surprised to see a guy in a San Francisco Giants baseball cap.

A:I'll give my two cents on the age part. It's not as easy but can definitely be done. I was 21, fresh out of university and landed my first teaching job in china as a homeroom kindergarten teacher on a pretty standard 20,000/month salary. I'm 1 year in now and am still happy. Pretty much all international kindergarten jobs on here want 2 years experience, but many will still accept if you have experience in your home country. With that being said, being white and having a nice looking face is much more of a decision factor in china vs the west, if you can- use it to your advantage. Good luck finding something! -- brinsleym
