Q: What stereotypes have you come across in China about people from your country?
I've been told that British girls are elegant (I would challenge anyone who believes this to go to a tiger tiger in any given city, and then see what they think) and that British men are a confusing mix of gentlemen and football hooligans...
of course we all are tall , fat a bit, blonde, blue eyed, promiscuous football playing ATM ...
German, I have been told that we make the best cars, that we are blonde, tall, blue eyed, handsome, that we can drink a lot of beer, that we are punctual, that we speaks funny english, and much less agreeable stereotypes about nazism (no joke I had Chinese people doing Hitler's greeting, that did not make me smile at all).

I think China has really weird attitudes towards Nazi Germany,
I think because the atrocities weren't directed at them...they have a much harder time understanding that they were "real" and very serious business for many many people. (lack of abstract thinking)
They all seem to know about the holocaust museum in Berlin, and feel that Germany has adequately expressed sorrow for what happened, so therefore Nazism was OK and now just a big joke. Why can't the Japanese be more like the Nazis they ask?
They hate Japan because Japan hurt China...but they don't hate japan on the principle of the inhumanity of what took place during the Pacific war. I find that a little scary, to be honest.
The same morality of a criminal boss who kills a man for stealing from him. He has no problem with stealing, he is a thief too, but the disrespect of the lesser thief who dared steal from him cannot be tolerated.
I don't accept that kind of Mob Boss morality.
