Q: What tattoo would you get to commemorate/summarize your time in China?
If you got a tattoo to commemorate/summarize your time in China, what would it be? And what do you think any Chinese person who saw it would think at first glance?
For me, I have given this a bunch of thought as it will also be my first tattoo. I was thinking of getting a zombie panda done on my shoulder. I would hope that any Chinese person that saw it would think 'weird' or 'funny', but I am not entirely sure.
My wife, who is Chinese, thinks it is just strange and her only condition was that I don't put it in a place that will be seen when I am wearing shorts or a short sleeve shirt. Other than that, she doesn't care what I tattoo on my body.
I'd probably get something with the red flowers on a dark colored branch. I love it, find it beautiful and uniquely Chinese. I found a large cross stitch kit where it has that, as well as snow, bamboo, and what I believe are a pair the magpies I saw at my school (although they have yellow on them in the pattern...?). I think it about sums up everything. I thought about a tattoo, but maybe I will never get one.
A zombie panda says a lot. I kind of like it. I like Jnus' red flowers too. Maybe three pandas, one with his paws over his eyes, one over his mouth and one over his ears. It's usually rep of see no evil, speak no evil, hear no evil, but I think it would signify so much more coming from China.
I was thinking about getting the chinese character for strength or courage on my foot, but I'm not sure. I already have three different pandas, so I think, no more.

Well, you know, I wouldn't get something to actually summarize my stay there. I'd rather have something pretty on my body, definitely not a spider. I suppose I could put thorns on the branches.
I like the zombie tattoo, but it's kind of negative, what about all the great things about China like it's history and culture, it's master poets, like Li Bai, it's great thinkers, like Lao Tsu, and what about all the hot girls?
I think maybe i'd get someone running for the loo. But that's kind of negative too, so maybe Li Bai, Lao Tsu and a bunch of hot girls all running for the loo. Yep, that would represent my stay in China. Also kind of sounds like the Benny Hill show.
a plate of noodles with a cockroach coming out of them
BMF in large Gothic script. Maybe blood red splattered across my chest. Yea, that's it. BMF.
A tattoo representing the famous picture from 1989 of that guy standing in front of the tank at T-square. I think that would go over well....
I think this would have to go on my back. I would get a portrait of a girl, with the hair style done in the fashion like they wore in one of the long passed dynasties, complete with the ornaments and fancy hair pins, etc.
Covering her nose and mouth would be one of those cotton, surgical masks that people wear to protect themselves from the pollution, however, this mask would not be white, but would be a replica of the Chinese national flag...
For me it would have to summarise the dichotomy of life here.
How about a stupendously gorgeous woman with long hair in a beautiful Qi Pao squatting over a foul squat toilet?
