Mine are from the GF. I go on a bad one and I have no patience. Yesterday I would have clothes-lined any scooter driver that even brushed me on the sidewalk, never happened, but I wasn't moving out of the way for anything, not even cars.
well there is a check list that starts when you get off the plane and ends when you get on the plane home. but basically you are treated as the one from out of town and do not understand anything or know anything about a single subject in the world . and if you question them.... the answer is quite simple and always the same THIS IS CHINA
TedDBayer:
Or just getting an answer, I even say I have no patience for repeating myself and after asking 6 times, the answer I get, can not be right.
It is usually everyone other than my wife. Like the other morning. Me and the canine are walking down the street. A breadvan is parked on the other side of the street. A woman comes out from it, runs across the street. Throws a diaper into the bushes and goes back to the car. I could see two trashcans from where I was (not counting their car) It takes more than this for a BCD, but when this happens literally 10 minuttes after getting out of bed, it isn't exactly boosting the mood for the day.
Scandinavian:
no, but I'm pretty sure the better ones only contain a little amount of ground diaperfillings
BCD? Bolt circle diameter? WTF? The BCD on what, my bicycle's crank? It's not caused by anything. Well, I guess it's caused by Shimano, but my BCD seems reasonable. Hell, it's almost universal.
I don't get it.
TedDBayer:
BCD aren't eccentric in China, if you take something off, it will never fit back again, ever.
icnif77:
Do you have 'Ultegra' or 'Dura Ace' crank? Bad day in China = BCD
bill8899:
@Ted, ummm eccentric what? AFAIK my chainrngs are concentric.
@icnif77 No I left that fancy high society equipment at home. Err actually I sold my road bikes back home. No, I don't want to talk about it, unless you want to see a grown (allegedly) man cry. BTW, why is the real stuff insanely expensive here? I actually have a beater mountain bike and an old Chinese commuter and it looks like I'll buy a Giant roadie here. However a Giant ATX770 can go fast with a few mods. I'm uncertain.
I'm thinking about buying something sweet this summer and shipping it to China. hehehehehe
icnif77:
We don't have decent Supermarket in my small city, butt…. one of the 5x15m bicycle stores has Cervelo (lightest/best 'road' frame in the World) bicycle with Ultegra 104 (not the best) set-up in the 'show window'. Price 80 000 Rmb. In US, same bike goes for 25 000 Rmb (US$4000) with Dura-Ace on. Too expensive= BCD.
bill8899:
Exactly. I bought and sold a Colnago for @ $3,000, but that was a Master with full Campy Super Record. BTW that bicycle was manufactured circa 1996.
I can't pay 30k, much less 80k RMB for anything less than a true Italian frame and at least Campagnolo SR or Shimano Dura Ace components. Here, that's completely out of the question. Yes, Cervelos are sweeeet.
The lack of import tariffs in the States makes us all spoiled babies.
So if I want a 135mm Campy BCD for less than 40k I am sure to have a BCD!
Ironically the same thing that solves them. Beer.
Red_Fox:
Ironic indeed. And that makes two of us. Now, where's that beer mug smiley...
driving...
Nessquick:
ohohooo, you start to feel it , right ? Man, I sold my car within 6 month. I really didn't want to be a massmurderer....
the looking/staring.. what in the flying fuck is up with that ??? I'm even back in Guangdong ,,,, not bass-ackwards Hunan... gosh, these dickheads stare stare stare.... fkn simpletons....
Lack of regard for other humans. I saw it on an almost daily basis in Hunan province. This is really the only thing that bugged me about China.
Unless I step in it, I don't give a flying fork about public defecation.
My gross inability to comprehend 5000 years of civilized cultural development.
Having to get up Monday to Friday at 5:30 in the morning and commute to work in bumper-to bumper traffic for an hour or 90 minutes. No patience for traffic jams or idiotic luxury car drivers who cause them. My stomach churns and sours with silent road rage and there's nothing I can do about it except suck it up and keep it down. Not the best way to start the work day.
How I miss the days when I could walk to work or take the subway back in Barcelona or ride my bike to work back in Austin.
icnif77:
You should change your 'accounting' practice: 'add 2 (traveling) hours per day to your working hours, and divide it with your payment.' Your pay per hour will be much lower, or…'you deserve pay raise!'
Red_Fox:
Long story, Bill... Also lived in some other awesome places - San Juan, Lisbon, Oslo, Paris, Sydney. Career led me around. Sports.
After all and all, I think it is myself. Just I can not adjust for the building perfectionism, driving skills, social behaviors, My fault, please, forgive me China...
