I only eat kosher, and every dish had pork in it.

Ended up up just eating the fruit at the end.

Politeness - fish head soup,,, carp no less  ( I only like quality fish.  eg. fresh trout, salmon, halibut, red snapper)  or maybe Donkey,,, but honestly it wasn't bad, neither were the other weird things I've eaten,,,,  not good,, but not super bad either.

Curiosity - fresh cobra blood/bile (fresh as in cobra alive about 15 seconds b4 your drinking it's blood)

Turtle, cooked in hot pot and washed down with baijiu ganbeis.

I had heard it was awful and that the turtle was cooked alive in front of you and there was no chance i was ever going to eat that, but then I was invited to a dinner I couldn't avoid and sure enough it was turtle.

There was a toast, I'd drink, eat something to get rid of the baijiu taste and the food was just as bad .

That was a long evening.

Another reason to buy a car while working longterm in China. Going back to my wifes jungle hometown, I always refused, polite or not, I'm not eating something that makes me wanna puke just by the site. So I just drive to the nearest city and buy some meat and start up the grill and cook some BBQ, haha none them could catch my style haha. I actually bought a U.S type backyard grill.
