As wierd as it may sound, Sichuan spicy fish head.  I really enjoyed that.  But I admit I passed on the offers of the brain & eyes.  But the rest of it was really good.

Peeking duck in a relatively inexpensive restaurant in Beijing suburbs. I dined with about 8 or 9 locals and the duck along with the trimmings and other dishes including a large coral trout were all superb. The bill came in at around 1000Y including drinks.
