Q: What website do you use to download chinese subtitles?

My Chinese girlfriend and I are partial to the odd western movie and tv show but I'm finding it harder and harder to find Chinese subtitles and even more so for good translations.

Does anyone know of or use any sites for downloading subtitles?

I would second Xunliang's suggestion if you just want to stream, but if you want to download (or have downloaded) the movies, or they don't have them on Baidu, I would suggest just searching for "movie name subtitle download". yifysubtitle.com tends to be good. If you're using VLC as your player, it's easy to put subtitles into it.

No....why not just watch the films on Chinese websites? That way they come with Chinese subtitles. Just type in the English name of the film in Baidu, and usually the top search results will give you the Chinese name of the film as well (or ask ur gf to do this). Then search for the film online, or get your girlfriend to do it. We use iQiyi quite often, and just pay for the VIP function. It works out well if you watch a lot of films. But if you're lucky you'll be able to find the film somewhere online for free.

The problem is that not all movies and especially television series are available on Chinese sites. And when they are, they might have scenes censored out.

Not every film has deleted scenes. I would think those are in the minority tbh. I can't remember watching a film recently that had any scenes deleted.

Sub HD and subom.

I use the first site for recent/current movies and series. The second site is better for older material, but doesn't always have subtitles for current series.

I assume you can read some Chinese, but if not make sure you download the 简体 (simplified) instead of the 繁体 (traditional) version of the subtitle. 双语 with English and Chinese subtitles combined into one file can also be useful.
