We have all got our only in China stories that nobody but us will ever believe
However lets put the Boot on the other foot
I got the wife big time this week by showing her a TV show I recorded while she was in China.
The only regret was I didn't' video tape the expression on her face.
It was laughter and embarrassment all in one.
she couldn't look away yet she covered her face
what was the TV show called
Puppetry of the Penis
What do you think could freak out our Chinese friends?
I recently had a party and decided to put South Park on the tv while we were drinking. The Chinese guests couldn't understand what type of cartoon it was when I said it's not for kids. It didn't equate at all for them. Xi Yang Yang it is not. lol
The internet!
Since it has been introduced to Chinese society, it seems to have freaked out more than a few of a certain elite society!
i would say. critical thinking. its like describing colors to a blind man.
Being told in no uncertain terms that one may not operate an automobile on a pedestrian walkway and that attempting to do so will result in rather harsh treatment at the hands of law-enforcement authorities.
I find that Chinese women (and even some men) are often startled, or even a little frightened, by the size of my chopper. You see I ride a chopper motorcycle, and when they see me roaring up behind them they tend to get a little nervous.
Are you kidding? Just SEEING a Westerner freaks out some Chinese. Some of the South Koreans are even worse.
I'm not sure if this is a good example: I would suggest that the vast majority of Western people would find 'Puppetry of the Penis' everything from absolutely disgusting, shocking, revolting, some would describe it as a sure sign of the degeneration of society, sick pornographic 'shock value', perverse and possibly the most disturbing thing is a presentation of the show 'as if' it were just another 'stand-up comedy' show or risque dance show.
But yeah, I mean if you show your wife people spraying diareaha into cups I bet that will totally get her too?
Or an open-heart surgery video. I bet she would be all shocked too.
Or two women eating each others feces?
Personally, I've seen many Chinese become shocked and amazed (and entirely doubtful) of modern western medicine, linear thinking, criticial thinking and the strange and seemingly foreign ability to be spontaneously creative.
Then again, I never cease to be amazed and bewildered by my Chinese friend's ability to do double-digit math problems on one hand (or 5 fingers if you will) and to do this as a 'fun game'.
Completely baffles and amazes me.
Gaohao:
Yeh, but I think it's fair to say that most people, regardless of race, are apt to get a little freaked out by diarhhea lattes, excrement sex games and penis puppets, except maybe the Dutch. I don't think the Chinese are entirely exclusive in that.
