Q: What will the century following the century of humiliation be known as?

The century of humiliation ended with the funding of the PRC. The Chinese felt humiliated by foreign powers. As we are now in the latter part of the following one-hundred years, what will this century be known as?

I don't know, after i've humiliated myself I generally hide out for a while and lay low........so maybe 'The Century of Staying in with a Cup of Cocoa and Watching the Telly.' It does have a certain ring to it.

Nothing. This is a propaganda tool used to rationalize single party rule. Either China will become a successful, well adjusted, stable nation in a multipolar world, at which the actual benefits of single party rule make the need to push a narrative of helplessness without the party unnecessary, or China will backslide and we'll see a turn of in leadership, at which point there would be no party around which to build a mythology.

The century of degradation, perhaps?

Honestly, nothing has really changed. Instead of an emperor, it is now a party, with one core leader. The country is just being humiliated by the party now.

LOL. That has a good ring to it, and a hell of a lot of truth. The century of self-humiliation.

SwedKiwi1:

I would say that most humiliation are some forms of self-humiliation.
