Q: What will you do for your partner,wife,or gf/bf for Steak & BJ day this year?
Looking for some good ideas !
I got drunk and bought a myriad of gifts on taobao, to send to her family and then bought a plane ticket to heaven (Philippines) ,where I hope they speak some English. The gifts I am sure will be much appreciated.....my gift for the wife is, I am leaving her to enjoy the frivolities she so loves, at this time of year, while I lie on the beach, out of her hair. The true silliness of what I have done shows on my departure date....Feb.7.... I have to get to Guangzhou before that,in what I "suspect" will be a damned free for all travel day(
....silly me.

I didn't know you could get a real steak in China?

Actually I bought some Canadian beef recently from a wholesaler selling to all the steak houses in town (he said) The beef was pretty good, far better than anything I've had in any of the steak houses in town.
But maybe the steak is not the important part of Steak & BJ Day. The steaks are just the commercial side, all the evil capitalist pigs trying to make a buck on an otherwise noble tradition.

You CAN get real steak in China. I get mine from Inner Mongolia at Metro. Triple AAA beef tenderloin. But you can get premium Beef Jerky only on or about March 14. That's why it's called BJ Day. Where ya been, Ted?
