Q: What is the worst school or worst manager/principle you have worked for?

Every year around this time, the local universities and public schools begin to end their terms, and foreign contracts expire.  Recently, I have received so many messages on WeChat and phone calls from the foreigners I know wanting to come teach at a university or public school.  They have been telling me horror stories about their private schools and principles.

My worse story, and it wasn't even that bad compared to some, happened more than a year ago while working at Joy English Language School... NEVER WORK FOR THEM IN DAQING.  I was happy for the first year.  BUT, I worked with another foreigner who was just a mess.  always drunk/hungover, muttered and mumbled his English, and just didn't care about what he did.  Because of this, my principle started giving me all of his classes and basically running me like a slave.  I, blamed the foreigner at first, and this caused an uncomfortable working environment.  But after he quit, it continued.  The parents wanted me, and the school obliged without considering how tired I was.  I fought/yelled/threatened the man.  In the end, he understood I was very unhappy and wouldn't try anymore, so told me I could go.  I fought for my release letter, and started my stretch in public schools and universities and have, for the most part, been happy ever since.

What are your stories?!?  What's the worse that has happened to you?!?

EF in Guilin was run by a guy I saw about three time in the ten months I was there. Only contract i've terminated prematurely. In that period (bearing in mind this is a school that caters almost exclusively to children aged 5 - 12) he employed as DOS one guy who I overheard threaten to pull the eyes out of an eight year old's skull (I in turn threatened to break his) and another DOS who I still believe to this day was a pedophile. In the end I wrote to head office about the second DOS, having warned him in advance that unless he changed his behaviour, which included sitting 9 year old girls on his lap or letting them wrap their legs around his waist, and on another occasion walking behind one girl of 9 or 10 with his hands on her chest, I was going to make a formal complaint about him. I did this and the manager was furious that I hadn't come to him first. I explained that I would have done if he'd ever been around. The guy I believe to be a pedophile is still in China to my knowledge but after my complaint was released from his position in the school.

we had a pedophile up here a while back.  i'm not quite sure what happened to him, but he made an enemy out of all the foreigners and schools..  it was the first time the foreigners and schools agreed on something here.  a common enemy i guess..

I'd say a teaching supervisor from METEN in CBD, Futian, Shenzhen  named: Zoe (Chinese, early 30's) Recently had a kid. From what i heard all staff are enjoying the down time with her on baby leave.

She was a teaching assistant turned into a manager, it's like taking Forest Gump making him president. Now you get the picture.

i worked for a swiss company, and the principle asked me to find prostitutes for him. one was not enough for him. he wanted two prostitutes at a time. he had no respect for China, but loved making money off of Chinese people. he was just a parasite.
