Q: What would be the best three types of tea to bring as souvenir?

My dad asked for tea....but since, as Puerto Ricans, we are more of coffee drinkers than tea drinkers I'm not sure what type of tea would be the best.

Wow, this is an old question I found that I guess I missed.

My 3 favorite teas here which I find have made great gifts:

1.)  Jasmine tea - usually a green or white tea infused with jasmine flowers.  Te best kind (in my opinion) omes from Fujian.  It's a bit sweet and very fragrant.  Vey popular when I bring this back home.

2.)  Yunnan Pu'er - I know people who ADORE this tea and those who absolutely hate it.  It's a post-fermented type of green tea.  It's dark and rich - I personally love it - probably my favorite type of tea. Best to try it first and see if it's for you.

3.) Longjing tea - "Dragon Well tea" - a roasted green tea that was given imperial status during the Qing dynasty because it was awesome green tea.  There's a whole history you can share about this one, and that makes for an interesting gift.

As another option, if you like black teas instead, try Qimen Hongcha (Qimen red tea) from Anhui province.  It's the variety of black tea that was prized during the tea trade with Europe - for example, it's the primary type of tea leaf in English breakfast teas and I beleive it's the type used in most western teabags - even stuff like Lipton.  Maybe not this exact tea from Anhui, but it's based on it.  Not too big a stretch from common teas available in the west, but it does taste better to me.

Enjoy!

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
