I read that China and Russia gave strong warnings regarding U.S. & U.K. strikes against Syria...
They get to sell more guns to Syria .....every body wins.......except the poor bastards caught in the middle
There's nothing they can do to stop it. They have almost no assets in the middle east to prevent such a thing. Even Russia only has a token force to prevent an attack.
Too bad no one is concerned about the persons killed in the chemical attack, mostly women and children sleeping since it was done during night hours. I do not approve military intervention into another county by anyone, but a limited punishment against the perpetrators, hell yes !
A country dependent on other countries for trade? Their response will be a passive one.
I do not support the US's involvement in anyway. That is how those people in that region lives. If we do the noble thing, we will still be the villain. Why don't the Muslim, Arabic people of the region intervene? Actually they are, many of Assad's troops come from outside the country. That is their mess, let them clean it up.
Scandinavian:
the only well functioning joint organization in the Arab world is "The Arab League" and that is purely a trade organization, they would have no skills in organizing an intervention. Turkey would be the one military power that could lead a joint intervention, but Turkey is a NATO country so not likely to do anything on their own without at least some NATO-buddies backing them up, and in that case, maybe US, UK or France would be better to lead a coalition.
...it would certainly teach China that it can keep doing whatever it wants on the international scene. Doing this without UN backing will not do anything good for international terrorism. Russia and China being against UN intervention just tells a lot about these two countries treatment of their own people.
China is heading for its own civil war, and possibly UN troops will need to occupy China at some point in the future.
On the Syria issue, I think China would do what it always does - criticise the west, throw a tantrum and whine about how it hurts the feeling of the Chinese people.
Traveler:
- China spends more on internal security than it does on its defence forces
- A crumbling economy
- Over 100,000 protests and riots (involving more than 100 people) per year for the past few years
- Conflict between police and military
- Nationalistic xenophobia has been incited to unprecedented levels in attempts to deflect the population's attention away from the irreconcilable internal problems
- Xi Jinping's desperate attempts to revert to Maoism
- Power struggle between Xi Jinping and Jiang Zemin for leadership of CCP
- Bo Xilai has many supporters, including the military, and would have been CCP emperor if not for his current trial (he routed the military in February last year)
- Silva is being too nice lately
- The list just goes on and on
1. Ban more Belgian Chocolate.
2. Ban adoption of Russian, Syrian and British children.
3. Invest heavily in American Military Contractors
4. Upgrade Chinese visa application system and requirements but withhold implementation until it is functional and practiced and clearly understood, by all, in a few weeks or years, to be determined at a later date.

if international law on chemical weapons is not enforced, well i guess everybody can use them and start making them.
maybe we should ask china and russia if laws should be enforced or just said to appease world opinion and low information citizens in the world
you mean the law should actually be followed, what a concept
I think the Brylcreem Boys in Beijing might shout, stamp their feet, tell each other why peaceful Chinese communism is better than warmongering Western capitalism, then tuck into another massive banquet, another few rounds of baijiu then another afternoon nap. Then wake up, get a couple of sexy girls into their room to do their hair and add a bit more gel before heading back down to the banquet hall for another feast and skin full of baijiu.
The response should be fire all American, British and South African English Teacher's, at least it would make them feel better. Then for us we get a forced vacation and I'd go back to boring quiet South Korea.
I really think the US, UK and China should attack Silva.
they would thank us in secret china gets their oil from the Arabs so peace means new long term oil contracts that they can get from them after we do all work and take all the blame.
