Q: What would you say is your monthly ratio of "good china days" to "bad china days"?

A lot of expats use this "bad china day" figure of speech, but I was wondering how many people also talk about "good china days". I think I have about one moment a month where I say to myself, "hey you know what, me? I'm glad I learned Chinese and came to China". Now that I think about it, this usually happens when I am drunk or my Chinese is particularly good or I just made some kind of cool personal connection with a Chinese stranger. But I also feel like I have the opposite reaction about once a week and the rest of the days are just "meh".  So I guess my "good" to "meh" to "bad" China day ratio per month is approximately:

1 : 25 : 4

Anyone else?

50/50, every other day I have a wtf just happened moment that mildly bugs me for a little while but doesnt ruin my day. Usually these are things that dont annoy Chinese people so I cant really blame anyone, after all no-one forced me to come here.

When I first came to China, I would have said 4 or 5 good days to one bad day.  At this point, it is probably 30 or 40 good days to 2 bad days, if even that.  I have just become numb to things, I guess, not accepting, just numb.

at least 30:1 if not greater. Like I said I don't get this "bad China day" meme. Some people constantly look for something to complain about.

snowballeffect:

You could say you like complaining about people who have bad china days.

You can say whatever you like. Did you have a bad day? Are you complaining about my alleged, perceived complaining?

No, I had a good day, thanks,. I just found what you said quite funny. Sorry, should have made it clearer it was a little joke.

Good, I'm happy to hear you had a good day. Happy every day! Sorry, I could not resist. Most of what I post here is a joke. In fact, everything I post may be unintentionally hilarious or just plain sad. But what do I know?

I'd say usually about 20:1.

After 6 years in China I would say one bad day a week and I define a bad day as someone trying to exploit me or my company.  This is a big improvement over when I first arrived. Back then it was perhaps 50/50.
