no, i'll be alright, many foreigners who are comes from non english speaking countries, its fine, some speak only spanish,or russian.. its fine...
maybe if she is a chick, she just wanna hook up with u... its true

The funny thing is i dont look chinese at all. i have been mistaken for old school mexican at times, sometimes as indian and even at a black at some occurances but never a chinese.

Actually, I have found this situation. sort of.  There is this student from Africa, not sure which country, and the only language we do have in common is Chinese. His BTW is much better than mine!

Hahaha, that's the coolest thing to watch. A lot of the African students at the universities in Shanghai have really good Chinese language skills (most are studying their Bachelor's degrees here, in Chinese), so they often chat amongst themselves in Chinese. They're from all over Africa and therefore would either speak English, French, Portuguese or Spanish depending on where they come from in Africa, so the language they have in common once they're here is Chinese. I've been at plenty of social gatherings where everybody was chatting in Chinese.
