Q: What is your plan of action if you lived in a first tier city during a zombie apocalypse?

That's true.

I'd probably just put on my headphones and try to avoid the hoards staggering all over the place like I do every other day.

This is not true! You obviously haven't seen the zombie hordes when they go on a rampage, all rushing for the same survival mechanism, screaming in that stomach-churning, "Trains ... TRAINS......".

I'm fairly certain that no amount of weaponry can withstand that onslaught.

(Same, obviously, also goes for bus stops... "Seat... SEAT... MUST.. HAVE.... SEAT!!")

That is true Shining_brow but have you noticed when Chinese people run they can only run for a few seconds then they slow down.

survive and kill zombies with a Japanese sword

Lord_hanson:

I hope you don't live in Nanjing, that would be awkward.

A sword would be the best way to do it. A sword and a bottle of liquor !

I saw a Youtube video from a guy who's fairly competent and knowledgeable about such things, and he very definitely does NOT recommend a sword -and especially a Katana. Single edged, relatively easy to blunten, needs a clean head-hit, too higher chance to get stuck in the body.

An axe is better - easier to wield with little skill, and you can effectively use it as a blunt weapon - and as a hammer etc - more utility value.

I usually keep at least 2 weeks water supply at home anyway. Tinned food stock too. It would be best to keep a low profile for a while then sneak during the day north by bicycle avoiding cities. I would raid small farm houses on the way killing if need be. Once I got into Russia I would begin the long journey west to the Urals. Should I survive the journey I guess I would stock up ready for the hell that Europe will be. The delayed start is my hope. I am hoping I would be behind the giant horde from Asia and not it behind me. Eventually I would return to my beloved Albion. I would battle my way to the North then cross to the isle of man. Clear the island then go on rescue missions back to the mainland and build a new nation on my little island. Not that I have put much thought into it. Lol.

Be more specific. Are you saying it based on the sci-fi movie stuff, with zombies being undead types of creatures that crave human flesh and are hard to "kill"...a fictional thing? Or are you saying an event where the world economy collapses practically overnight and things go haywire very fast?

Stiggs:

Good question. That would actually be an interesting topic too. What if there was civil disorder here in China?

Step 1: Find some good scotch, preferably some Islay single malt , lots of it.

Step 2: Drink it.

Step 3: ???

Lord_hanson:

Step 3: wake up the next day and vow never to drink again. Step 4: go back to step 1.

I would head straight to the local Army base. I am imagining it wouldnt be much of a strong hold. Chinese would desert so fast. Get me some weapons. Then head straight to those crappy water delivery places. They have a good years supply for me. As id be the only one with guns people cant stop my pillaging.

Food would be a problem. My local super market has an "international section" that is made up exclusively of cookies and tomatoe sauce in a sqeeze bottle. So alot of pasta i guess. Carbs have alot of energy. But i wont need it. I live on the top floor of a small building. Clearing the floor should happen with ease as its 90% investment buys and empty. Lock the stairwell and I am set. Concrete walls , steel reinforced doors. Easy peasy

Once the electricity shuts off I will spend my days sniping Zs from the roof. I would probably save a damsel in distress who will pay me back with lots of gratification.

If its a 28 days later kind of thing i could just wait it out. If its a Walking dead kind of deal ill wait it out as long as I can than make my way to the Ocean. The harbour has lots of sailboats.

I have zero sailing experience but i am a fast learner. Days will be spent navigating. Nights making love to my trove of recued women. I will head for an outlaying island, clear it out and make me a home. I have watched enough bear grylls to survive. Water , fire ,shelter, food. Save energy for repopulating.

Sure i might be discovered but by now my sniping skills are unmatched so no one will make it to shore.

I will die peacefully, old as fuck and surrounded by lazy eyed hemophiliac ridden offspring.

Great story, except  " I have watched enough bear grylls to survive". He's a fake...not the real deal. Watch susrivorman, he's the real deal and much better.

Depends on the type of zombie-ism. WWZ type, or the old shambling type, or 28 Days Later type. Do they shuffle along slowly, or do they run really fast? Are the relatively intelligent (ie, huge increase on the current zombie population) or pretty thick (Shaun of the Dead type)... what does it take to kill them? (and, how am I going to find out???)  Do all those 'killed' come back as zombies - and thus, a 1.3 billion population of zombies? Or what (I never understood that - how are the new zombies created? Cos, obviously, some die - but others don't - when bit)

There's an army training school only a few K's from here, just up the road from the local supermarket. Hopefully, a) it'll get emptied, and b) they'll leave a few weapons, and the ammo... and a truck... with fuel.

Is it winter? Cos if it is, and the electricity runs out, it's going to suck!

But, in general, stock up on weapons, ammo, food, water, and toilet paper - and wait.

good point, I am scared of "I am legend" types... lean bodes and run really fast

That is exactly why I'm planning on buying a Marauder car as soon as possible devil

Also you can keep, swords, axes and other toys at home.

Make sure to have a food reserve and all the magic chemicals to clean the water.

I forgot a nice stock of toilet paper
