Q: Whats with all the teacher on teacher hate?
It seems every 2nd question or comment section on this site is filled with people bashing other teachers or trying to justify their own place in the world. Is there really "levels" of teaching english in China?
1. If I hear one more comment like " oh im a teacher but i work for an international school where you need a teaching certificate plus a degree" im gonna be sick. Everyone knows that noways a training center will pay just as much for you to sing and dance for kids as an international school will pay you to be boring. Your not any more important, get over yourselves.
2. People bashing other teachers that dont have a degree.... YOU HAVE A DEGREE! YOU HAVE AN IMMEDIATE ADVANTAGE. No one is taking your jobs or watering down the talent pool. If someone without a degree is getting more salary or taking your jobs, its because you arent any good and the school would rather risk it with them. If you are good at your job at all, these people shouldnt effect your life one percent.
3. PLease stop bashing peoples english in a comments section. Its echinacities, not an exam. Like your use of grammar makes you a better teacher here in this joke of a work environment. It makes ya look sad. So just remember that the next time a teacher from a country other than the big white 5 says something you dont agree with.
Im tired of every foreigner i meet being so ashamed of themselves you can smell it. Oh im a director of education, oh im doing this till my business works out. Jesus, is there no normal people here? Why dont people say , fuck yeah these morons at work pay me so and so money and all i gotta do is color with Kids! and dont just say it to cover your smell of shame. You chose this life, your living it so own it!
If you dont like it then make the change or go home, but the sooner people realize that all of jobs are fairly useless at this point and were taking what we can get, then we would all just get along better.
If some non teacher looks down on you for being a teacher, screw em, they are in just as much denial, their job market is shrinking and their salaries are stagnating, there is much less of a gap then you think there is, so they can get off their high horse.
Whys it so hard for everyone just accept the situations as it is and move on with it?

You were doing fine up to number three.You don't have to be a Rhodes Scholar to post, but akung how i iz 2 b Englisch teechur certainly speaks volumes. Even those who are not native English speakers at least make an effort to be coherent.
I've met people with no degree who are awesome teachers and certified teachers (a few double-Masters and PhDs) who couldn't function in a Chinese classroom.
The "I'm only days away from my Nobel Prize" isn't unique to China...a lot of expats elsewhere are into braggadocio and one-upsmanship too.

fair enough, ive been to other countries but never lived abroad until China, so its entirely possible that people just hate each other everywhere. I just want someone to say hi back when i say it to them! I wanna buy some kick ass shoes to give people something to look at when i walk buy.

Just ignore them. They were probably neer-do-wells in their own countries, if not outright failures, and sometimes, when someone goes up a rung on a ladder, they forget that the climbing the ladder still exposes their glutus maximus.

Yeah, I don't get the whole shame thing. What's wrong with having a good job in China and taking care of yourself and your family? Who pucking cares if you were an ultra mega loser back home? At least you're making something of yourself now. Only a real loser continues to be a loser and then complains about it. Seriously, if there's an opportunity, pucking take it.
I always appreciated all the work people put in to their English-teaching jobs here. It's not an easy job if you're really interested in helping them learn. Heck, I tried teaching English for a bit, and I found it to be quite difficult at first. Yeah, I was a white monkey, but I made sure they actually learned!
But if they're also planning and working on bettering themselves while they work what they refer to as a "shit job," then more power to them. Don't need to put someone down for not liking their job and planning on doing something better in the future.

So you write about the type of teachers you hate and ask "why all the teacher/teacher hate?" You voiced half the erroneous misconceptions about teachers as your own biases.

When you treat your work environment as more than a joke, you might find greater rewards of various types.
