it even translates text messeges. super use full when trying to communicate with someone who cant speak english.

An offline one you can get is called "transwhiz" eng/chi translator.

Pleco is one of the best as you don't have to have internet access when using it and if you dont know the pinyin of a Chinese character you can search its meaning by radical. Of course, pleco is more of a dictionary than a translation tool but it does come in handy when you're stuck for words.
