Q: What's the best passport to come to China on?

You get to choose? lucky guy.
Ive heard Canada, but i doubt there is much of a difference between any of the main western countries. Ive also heard that visas for canadians are also cheaper than for americans, brits ect. But since the price of visas changes like a womans mood its hard to quantify.
A Chinese passport. Har har! (Sorry. Couldn't resist the asinine reply.)
My guess is North Korean. No. Wait. Scratch that. NKs aren't supposed to leave their perennial labor camps without a pass.

I suppose, given the choice, the latter would out-paradise the former, although I wouldn't exactly refer to either, for that matter, as paradise. But I get your drift.

A Singaporean passport. Visa free for a certain stay. Mostly visa free around the world, too.

Mine is, the last time I came I tried to use my sister's and they wouldn't even let me on the plane. Pff.

Pakistan's for you have to pay nothing. No visa fees, no Residence permit fees and lot of love and respect everywhere. Despite the worst conditions in Pakistan I found that Chinese Authorities respect educated and well mannered individuals. I must say my appearance is no less than Brits and my education added to my personality but yet there is much more good for Pakistani Passport holders here at China May be because of the deep strategic relationship of the two countries and deep concern of the people of the two countries. Whatever, I am having great time more better than Europe.
With my Canadian passport - without any doubt. Although it may change after Canada shut the door for the wealthy Chinese immigrants to Canada.
I noticed many Chinese don't look at the American or Japanese with kind hearts.
Based on talks with different expats I got the impression Hong Kong and Swiss passports are the "best".
I've heard Belgian is the best. I guess back in '89 during some big incident (guess which one) the belgians were the only diplomatic staff that didn't leave in protest.
A belgian I met once claimed they can drive in China on their belgian licenses which is unique among EU countries. I don't know if that's true or not.

That's a really cool perk. I've heard that Nigeria has really good relations with China and that they also get visa benefits. Wish I, as a South African, got a special BRICS discount or something. I don't. Only perk from that is that it's a little bit easier to transfer money here.

Well SA and China are a part of BRICS so we have certain benefits because of the good guanxi. We have a bank back home which provides foreign currency bank cards. I have one of them and if someone back home goes to put money into my account I'll get the money within 5 mins of them putting it in. And it helps a lot because if I draw money with my South African bank card/credit card then it converts to Dollars first and then to RMB, so I lose on conversions/commissions twice. But with this other card it's a straight conversion and I have it immediately.
Other friends of mine from Venezuela, North Africa, middle ease etc have a really hard time to get money to China from home. It's usually through Western Union or other methods that can take 10 to 14 days. So I'm pretty happy with my situation.
Haven't tried to take money home yet (Never had any when I went back) so not sure if that's easier too.

Oh you know there used to be a way for Americans to do that with certain bank relationships.
Like Bank of America had a deal with CCB where you could withdraw money for free at a single, decent exchange rate.
I'm not sure if you can still do that.
