Q: What's the best (worst?) argument you've had in China?
Personally, I particularly enjoy it when someone tells me how much they hate Japan and go on about Senkaku islands and yadda yadda yadda. I always like giving them a bitch slap of truth. I usually respond with "Japan invests hundreds of billions of dollars in China every year and creates millions of jobs. Without those jobs, you'd still be making 1,000rmb a month at the family farm."
And let's not forget the always inflammatory, "Diaoyu islands never belonged to China. It was owned by the Kingdom of Ryukyu which was a vassal state of China until being conquered by Japan in the 1800's and even the Chinese government admitted in the 1950's that it was Japanese territory. China claimed the islands in the 1960's after oil and gas were discovered there."
Beaufortninja, my worst arguments have never been political ones -- they have been work related. The boss's version of professional decorum is to launch into the most egregious, the loudest, the most endless tirade of personal abuse when asked or questioned about anything. The boss is God; he makes no mistakes; he is higher than the Pope; he is omnipotent in all things and thus the slightest question brings on the Great Inquisition or the Gestapo or a combination of both.
my wife told me, I should not sleep naked .... I said I always sleep naked ..... she said, I will get cold....I said, no I won't.... well over a year now and I WIN ,,,,,, I sleep naked and she doesn't bitch ........... but every once in a while, in my sleep, I can feel the blanket being adjusted to cover me a little more..now if only I could get her to do the same, so I don't have to struggle/wait for her to get her pajamas off.
Best argument I had was when I paid for my lunch but the lady said I didn't give the right amount. Guess what I got my food so good prevailed that day. I think the employee was trying to get some extra cash from me for some reason. She didn't give me my food for awhile and I was wondering why. She even had her manager there but after I found out why my food wasn't ready I just waited a couple minutes and I got my food. Again if i didn't pay the money they would have never gave me the food. She knew I paid.
Worst argument I had was with a taxi driver. He won! I said to take me some where he refused....I couldn't do anything so I just let him go wherever he was going. I don't know what happened to him all I know was he went far far away!
