Q: What's the biggest case of doublethink you've encountered in China?

Mine:

A. - China's an amazing country; a country with 5000 years of history. Really the best. Watch me swell with pride.

B. - That's awesome. So what are doing these days?

A. - Applying for a visa so I can go study and live abroad.

I have some pictures of T**b*t*ns and **g*r elderly, women and children being beaten and killed that I couldn't post here but the general contention that the minorities willfully and joyfully embrace their Chinese overlords, and that it's the innocent and peaceful Chinese, in fact, who are being violently oppressed by foreign countries.

kchur:

2) China is the freest country and the one with the most fair and balance governments (unlike America/"foreigner countries") where the government constantly lies to people) even though I'll probably get in trouble for posting this picture of the Dalai Lama with Mr. Rogers:

3) One of the men pictured above is worse than a thousand Hitlers and is responsible for the death of millions of innocent Chinese AND t**b*t*ns

Yeah.... the sweet funny little harmonious ethnics living harmoniously with the most harmonious Chinese in great harmony China... but their respected leaders are all BAD!!!  Try some of the museums out here in Xinjiang, they are masterful exercises in propaganda.

Another wonderful logic-gap: Spring Festival. Begins in mid-January (this year). I don't know what the temperature was in your part of the country, but in these parts, it was minus 20 to minus 25 outside. THAT'S NOT SPRING!!!

China is so expensive and I make so little money!  I need to haggle for the best price possible on food, clothing, etc. so I can save what little money I have.

Check out my new iPhone!

Australia is told not to engage in cold war alliances with Uncle Sam (i.e. US troops in Darwin) as they're no longer necessary, while making territorial claims in seas that even the wildest Sinophile can see are outrageous.

Answer of the DayMORE >>
A: No, it's not allowed to work under RP at 2nd job! I'd say, Z visa
A:No, it's not allowed to work under RP at 2nd job! I'd say, Z visa/RP sponsor can have an objections to your part-time job. I did the same at my English teaching in China and elsewhere, butT ... I casually mentioned at my prime job, some kindergarten or another school asked me to work with them part-time. Then, my Q: "Is that permitted?" ...  Answer from RP sponsor was always "Yes, but you can't be late or miss the classes at our school ..." with my reply: "No, our work schedule has a priority, and I'll arrange classes at kindergarten only in my free time." When I cleared that, I was undertaking any extra teaching hours at other schools and private students in my free time.Sometimes, teachers at my prime job asked me if I'm willing to have some extra classes elsewhere.I accepted after the talk with School's principal. I suggest, you test the felling at your Z/RP sponsor and once you see they don't object, you can work at 2nd job. Keeping your 2nd job as a secret from your employer won't work, 'cause you're laowai and Chinese know exactly what you do in your free time. However, despite your employer's agreement for extra work, you are still in violation of Chinese Labour law, and even if your sponsor agrees to your extra work, you can still get in trouble, because it's clearly written (somewhere ... ) that under Z/WP, one can work only at the Z-sponsor and nowhere else. Penalties ... I'd say, there won't be any warnings and you'll be required to exit China in short Exit time.It never happened to me, so I can't really advice how is when manure hits the fan ...  -- icnif77
