Huge (but hilarious) Hulk drama incoming... but first, I want to hear from you.
The number 1 mistake: Assuming that contracts will be MUTUALLY binding...
Scandinavian:
It's not just contracts (employment I assume ya'll mean) any piece of paper is generally useless unless it is the hukou.
That lady that pushed the gas pedal of her vehicle and crushed her own head. That was a huge mistake can't make up for it if you're gone. (!
He he, I said: "make"!
GuilinRaf:
The world would be most grateful if someone would drown Sparky in an nice big vat of diarrhea....
t91camp:
Never have I seen a more qualified candidate for becoming a human centipede.
Scandinavian:
@GRat. If you can set that up I will gladly volunteer a street food eating spree to see if I can contribute.
crimochina:
@scandiva: GRat ...WTF ?
I CAN not for the life of me figure out why chinese devalue the lives of their own countrymen
The biggest mistake I come across (and it's sadly an extremely common mistake) is foreign nationals that accept everything on face value in China and assume because they have something in writing, this is the way it's going to be. I am continuously surprised by how difficult it is to convince some of these people otherwise. A common mistake that I often see is foreign nationals that want to open small businesses in China and rely entirely on the glossy brochure given to them by the local investment bureau. There is always a small table outlining the basic cost of registration. These costs are low but then there are the "additional costs" that you have to find out for yourself. The ones that the government officials strangely keep quiet about until they have your commitment and registered capital coming in.

Apparently you have some experience in this area or know someone.
Anyway, yea, what Kai said.
Silvas parents relying on Birth control !!!!
You want to talk family with me
then bring it on you Chinese menopausal trailer trash Bridge dweller
I saw a migrant worker doing construction work who thought he could walk ontop of an overhanging aluminum sunshade. I watched him take one step and drop right through like the thing was made out of paper. He landed ontop of a pile of broken concrete and scrap metal. His buddies picked him up and carried him over to the sidewalk to wait for an ambulance.
the most common mistake i see guys make in person is trying to marrying or otherwise turn their prostitute lover into a house wife. they buy them homes, give them their salary and then have nothing to show for it.
heard about any moron that comes here ot commit a crime
Hulk:
People actually marry their hookers here? Why on earth... but I suppose if the girl is truly repentant and wants to turn over a new leaf, her past can be overlooked.
But... this is China.
crimochina:
n non no . you see there is short time, (few hours or just 1) long time overnight and buy
around 20,000rmb to the house, you can keep her. but you have to clothe her, feed her, give her a place to live (one guy i met bought her 2 houses one for her family and one for her and her son, mind you she did not allow him to stay there haha even though he bought the damn house)
Biggest mistake seen was letting giving silva access to the public room, she should be confined 24/7. Biggest mistake I've ever done was not ticking the hunting permit for silvas box on the visa appication.
All employers/Agents in education industry thinks only WHITE people can teach English. Without even interviewing or seeing a person they reject non-native speakers and then later they beg whites to come and teach in their schools...lol
JayKnox:
Here, let me explain what's really going on. I will give you a 'parallel' of the situation here in Canada:
- I have an awesome Kung Fu studio (it's actually better at teaching Kung Fu than others) but you see, I figured out that the Caucasian Canadian couple don't seem to draw the Caucasian Canadian students. Turns out, a Chinese Kung Fu teacher drew dozens of new students! He is NOT nearly as good a Kung Fu expert as the Canadian couple.
Who now have a raise due to our increased memberships.
- A local Sushi restaurant had a great product and actually the 30 year old blond girl was a superb Sushi chef. Like it or not - she increased sales after hiring a Filipino guy and a Chinese guy. For some reason patrons decided they must be Japanese chefs and even insisted the food was getting better.
(in fact, neither were Sushi chefs and she trained them to do exactly what she was doing already).
See how that works?
Far from 'stupid' its about the smartest thing a business owner can do.
The Biggest mistake for any foreign person here, is to try and fight in public!
The chinese will back up the total stranger, you are fighting with, even if they are a total stranger or know nothing about what the physcial fight is about, these buggers will back there own people, and think the foreign person is a Big Bad Wolf.
They basically gang up on you, just for kicks and over curious shit in their heads.
Its dangerous and one could get the crap kicked out of them, or even worse, so Dont try to be a hero and win a fight with one person, you will be fighting a hundred little kung fu f...... within 10 minutes!
