Becoming a nobody is fairly difficult. The first thing you should do is become totally average: dress in average clothing, wear your hair in an average style, drive an average car, live in an average home have an average job, etc. Once you've mastered that, you're well on your way to nobody-hood. You just have to avoid eye contact, never distinguish yourself in any way, don't talk to anyone, and blend in with the wallpaper wherever you are. But, what's the difference between become a nobody and become a Chinese?
Nobodies are unobtrusive. They accept their insignificance with dignity instead of making a loud, crass spectacle of themselves that others have to put up with.
Additionally, while nobodies may not have a strong sense of self, they don't compensate with an over-developed sense of national identity.
