Q: What's the difference in body language here?

A while back, this local girl I know did something that, in my culture, would be considered a fairly obvious sign of interest. I quizzed a few people here, and they all said "yep, go for it, she's into you". So, I went for it... and bummed out :(

So, what do the girls do here, as far as body language, that say they're interested in guys?

If you were in Guangxi Province, and a girl was interested in you, she will give you a very colorful tennis ball size ball covered in different colors of cloth, hanging from a ribbon.  With that action, she is indicating that she has feelings for you.  If you accept it and take it on your hands, you are telling her you are also interested.

Other than that, I do not pay attention at all to the "regular" body language I am used to, since I do know here it doesn't mean the same as back home.

nevermind:

In beijing they come up to you and say "I'll fuck you for 500 yuan" not very subtle.

body language is different here, they brush up against you, take your hand to lead you and it means absolutely nothing

Well I was in Tibet and had a girl tie the white scarf around my neck, paint my face, offer me a glass of wine, and then wanted to take turns singing songs.... but this was for a marriage cermony.... so I don't that you want that much body language.

I have had the same problem with guys here. They act like they're interested but they're actually not. It's really frustrating. All you can do is tell the person how you feel and hope for the best. I heard that heartbreak is a pretty common outcome.

Usually if they are interested they won't give you too much body language. They will be straightforward and tell you to your face how much they think of you. Also they do the eye thing and say it's like electricity. If they really like you they will invite you to join them dancing at some dance clubs. But if your a player and just want some fun they will notice it and you won't have a chance. People are not looking for the playerz, there actually looking for that gentleman. So open the door next time you see a girl you like be a gentleman and don't act like an obvious player because it won't work!

I think body language is the same in every country but with small diferences. For example the proximity between two people in Asian countries is quite small and is normal. Westerners like to have lots of personal space.

I would have thought that... except experience has indicated otherwise :(

A:I'll give my two cents on the age part. It's not as easy but can definitely be done. I was 21, fresh out of university and landed my first teaching job in china as a homeroom kindergarten teacher on a pretty standard 20,000/month salary. I'm 1 year in now and am still happy. Pretty much all international kindergarten jobs on here want 2 years experience, but many will still accept if you have experience in your home country. With that being said, being white and having a nice looking face is much more of a decision factor in china vs the west, if you can- use it to your advantage. Good luck finding something! -- brinsleym
