A tip for the OP Icniff :-) If the final destination is not BJ it might be better to travel in Europe to find a direct flight. I would not wish an internal Chinese flight on anyone. Lots of options in the Serbia area. Sofia for example. Short train ride. The op should definitely do a bit of research.

@Scots: yeah, I agree on research. It was just first link I got on Yahoo-gle with direct flight BOG-PEK.

Now, the other thing is visas. I'm not sure how is with visas, 'cause Serbia isn't EU, so it might be visa for Turks.

But, eDreams offers direct flights from Belgrade to Beijing, and price isn't too high either.

I always fly to Beijing, and travel inside China with G train. 1000km in 4 hours.

I was getting train tickets today for travelling to Xinjiang. I needed 5 tickets, last two for return from Kashghar via Turpan. Counter gave me 4 tickets OK, but last one Turpan - Kaifeng was two days earlier than Kasghar - Turpan. I had written all tickets in Chinese, and she screw it up. In the end, I had to cancel all 5 tickets, because I can't get ticket for return from Turpan.

Pak. Embassy asked me for some Gov. stamp on Invitation letter, which I couldn't get on time. So, I changed visit to Pak. to visit to Kyrgyzstan, where I don't need Tourist visa. However, when I return back to Kashghar by the end of the month, I cannot get ticket to return to Kaifeng.

I'm tired of this visa and tickets BS, so I'll rest today. Tomorrow, I'll try to get train tickets with return to School in the beginning of September, not in the end of August.

I was thinking Sofia Istanbul by train or bus, and then flight Istanbul - SH. My apparent destination would be SH. And regarding Turkey, the visa is not necessary, since Turkey is not EU either.

Istanbul has direct flights to SH. I know a few Brits who go to UK from GZ via Istanbul. Cheap. Turkey might be your best bet for direct to SH.

Have a guess. Your options from a landlocked country are plane or land. You tell us which you think is easiest.

Maryan:

I didn't mean it literally, land or plane. I am sorry. I meant various means of transport, since it's a long way to China.

Any particular destination in China? Different Chinese cities have different international destinations. For GZ, for example, probably go via Dubai.

ScotsAlan:

Train from Nis to Istanbul, then flight to HK, BJ, GZ or SH.

There seems to be no direct flights to China from Belgrade.

There are no direct flights from Belgrade, that's the reason I am asking, but thank you anyway.

Walk towards the East. You can go towards the West, but it's much longer and there's a bit of swimming involved. Don't forget your hat to protect yourself against the sun, bring sunscreen too and water to stay hydrated.

Maryan:

As for walking, I prefer cycling. Burn a few calories on the way.
