Q: What's the easiest way to ship large quantities of stuff to the US?
I want to send some inside painted bottles back to the US for my family to sell. Anyone know the most cost effective and reliable way to do it?

find a shipping company, ask a best price including custom fee and shipping fee, custom and document fee about 600RMB,shipping fee is different according to different port you ship to,hope can help you.
Its not difficult to do. Painted empty bottles should have no import duty at all to the US. Send me a PM or QQ message and I can hook you up with a service as I often ship aboard. BTW, how is the new gig going?
I would hire an international courier like UPS who also offer shipping. Don't do it through the post because a) it'll take forever to get there b) it's way overpriced for inferior service.
I have used China Pstal Services in the past shipping boxes from here to USA, and have never had a problem. I have also found that while it does takes from 2 to 3 months to get there, the fee for surface mail is very cheap compared to any other services. One thing you must be careful do, must insure you do not ship anything on the "not allowed" list, fill the custom declaration form correctly, and pack contents well to prevent damage, but do not close the box until at the Post Office, so they can check what it being shipped. If you plan to do this on an ongoing basis, I would definitely give it a try, no sense in paying someone to do a custom declaration that you can do yourself, it ain't that complicated.

Also make sure to send things in a plain box ( no writing on it ), I sent boxes to Canada and had to empty them and turn the box inside out to have no writing on it, it toke a little over three weeks to get there.
contact some fowarding agents back home via the web and ask for some quotes this will then get your stuff from your door in China to the port and to your door at. Home . it is not that expensive just ask them the same question you asked here. best regards
