Q: What's with this foreign guys are perverts stuff?

Hey there. Why is it that Chinese girls accuse foreign guys of being perverts constantly? Pretty much every female co-employee plus many girls just seeing me on the sidewalk have called me selang, even though I have only touched one woman - my wife - since moving to China many years ago.

It is true that we lose are virginity at a younger age, and tend to date a lot when we are young, but we generally settle down sooner or later.

I think Chinese girls don't realize what Chinese guys are like when it's just the boys. These are things I have heard every week for years, pretty much since my Chinese was good enough to follow:

1) Chinese guys, when no girls are around, generally brag about having slept with dozens of virgins, often teenagers.
2) Chinese guys generally brag about cheating on their wives, including with underage girls.
3) Chinese guys generally brag about sleeping with prostitutes.
4) Chinese guys with money brag about having multiple wives, which is to say, keeping mistresses in a second home they've bought.
5) Chinese guys generally chaoxiao me for being less of a man because I don't do any of this.

To be honest, it makes me uncomfortable, and I usually avoid talking to Chinese guys when I can, though they tend to force themselves on me, as if bragging about being a manslut is a matter of national pride.

In my hometown, saying anything like that would get you a punch in the face. But whenever there are no girls around, that is all Chinese guys talk about. So why am I - from a traditionally strictly monogamous culture - considered a selang for the colour of my skin?

Welcome to China, and welcome to a place where you can knock foreigners and it's not racist but don't do it to the locals! I would rather be a pervert than a prude!

Spot on kchur

I think it's because you *COULD* be doing all of those things and the other guys just have to talk about it to stroke their egos. It seems here that if you *CAN* do those things, you must be doing them.

Ignorance. That's all. According to admin if it's based on a common stereotype we're allowed to be racist though.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change student visa to labourer one is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
