Q: What's a good name for a female dog?

There is an adorable puppy owned by people from the construction site on campus. They bought her a week or two ago, and she doesn't have a name yet. She's a Chinese dog, so I think she needs a Chinese name. What's a good one? She's one of the cutest puppies I've ever seen, and I visit her almost every day. Today they let my friend and I walk her on her leash, it was so funny.

I like Tian Mi Mi

It means something like "sweet honey", a term of endearment.

Mr_spoon:

And if mispronounced it sounds like "lick boobies".

I second that motion!

I'm good with pet names. I bred and showed Maine Coon cats and I have Collies. I like names with a hook and if you show then you kinda need one. I have a brown tabby"Wzly Stripes", some times the pet will pick a name or it will come from what it does, one of my cats is "Baby Kissez",
i told my first collie pup to go do something because i was taking her home and I will give her a name, so i put her down and she undid my shoe laces and I said " Lacey" which I always thought was a lovely name, my friends daughter said that sounds too much like "Lassie". My new Collie is "Taffy" which is a play on "Lassie"
My other pets are Angel, Teeky, Island Girl ( I-lyn), Miss T (misty),Tipsy, Gypsy,Blue Sky,Aurora, Honey, Raisin, Tabasco, Harley, Attila the Hun-y,
- Chinese for Lacey and Lassie is Lie-Shee from my translator.

I don't want a name that is simply translated to Chinese.

What kind of dog is it, do you know? Little? Big? Wht color(Drunk?

I usually let their name come when I get to know them a lil. One of my St Bernard's I named Barnum Bailey (Barney for short) because he was a three ring circus as a puppy. My pekingese was Dante cuz he was hell fire. And my Sharpei was Tilly, named after Tully Syvalis' bald head. And my bright green parrot needed an Irish name... Murphy.

Ohohoh.. Jasmine in Chinese. 茉莉花

mo2 li2 hua1 (google translated, so don't necessarily trust it)

I said Jasmine in Chinese.

What did you end up naming her?

Jnusb416:

I haven't named her because I haven't heard a name that I like. Although Jasmine is ok, I think it is too long, and doesn't really fit her personality. She's like any puppy, she likes to play and wants to run around, but is stuck on a leash all day. I wanted to give her a name because the owners haven't, despite owning her for several weeks now.

Meifeng means beautiful wind. With any name I would check the meaning and how to pronounce it with a local to make sure of the meaning and that you say it right.

I used to call my girlfriend socks instead of honey in Cantonese because I got the tone of the word wrong. I said it in an even way and the it should have been going downwards.

I am not that good with Chinese names yet. I picked the names above from this website. So you can have a look at it and see what you think. What type of dog is it?
