Q: What's the highest air pollution AQI you've seen in your city?

It is over 400 AQI in Beijing right now. How much higher does this thing go? What's the highest you've seen in your city?

In my city, they used to have an LED sign stating the daily number on one of the buildings by the city center, but they took it down because no one could see it!

what source for air quality has information for all of the country.

Is http://www.aqicn.info/ worth anything ? Am a little surprised that the city I am in with only 1.5 million people has just as crappy air as e.g. Shenzhen, of course, the wind direction could have something to say.

I found an "Air Quality" app for my phone. Not entirely sure about its accuracy but it's telling me its a beautiful 424 right now here in Xi'an.  Nice.

In Dongguan 270 max since I started monitoring from October 2012. And it's already BAD!

I was in Beijing in April this year for couple of days, at 400-450 level. I literally couldn't breathe. There was no oxygen.
