A fluent Chinese gets about 100 RMB/hr plus or minus 50, at least that's it here in Shanghai. There are web sites (native CN sites) that introduce clients and teachers. They suggest the rate.

A native English speaker gets at least twice that. A team of one native Chinese and one native English is hard to beat and can earn 300 or more RMB per hour because of the ease of the relationship with the client.

What you teach is up to you. Tutoring is easy. They have the schoolbook, you help them with the lesson(Drunk. Training is more challenging, as the client and you will decide what the class will look like, what the goals are and how long the training will go (e.g. 5 months and longer, once a week)

Plenty of opportunities.

I've charged between 100 and 150 RMB per hour in Inner Mongolia and Sichuan province. It depends on the level of the student, the intensity of the training desired, and part of the country you live in...

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
